You may be missing the main point of it by not reading the whole question. And sometimes it makes your answers look silly......Why do we do that, I have been guilty of it too........

Just in a rush, too tired, or jumping to conclusions while skimming the "details" part. I must admit, I have been guilty of that, and realizing later that I missed or erred on a pertinent fact. OOPS! I'm sorry, I'll try to slow down and be more careful.
but, uhhh, what'd you say again? Did I answer the right question?

I always read the entire question, no matter how long it is. I'm not lazy, unlike some people on here. Reading the whole question is very important if people expect to give quality answers that are actually helpful.

Because the main point of Yahoo! Answers IS just the bold question, not the entire explanation.

Sometimes the question is too long and rambling. Just get it over with. Let's not write a whole book as to why I don't know Jack Twit!

Because sometimes some peoples questions are too long and just go on and on and on.

we have made our opinion about a question and the person behind it as soon as we see the listed-part.
but as you said: sometimes the main point is in the smaller written section....

My problem is that I answer the question and then they add a comment later that makes my answer look really lame... I blame it on the question person, lol.
