Getting into the Eng. course is of course competitive, but once u manage to get in, the rest is really a life on a bed of roses (with no thorns ofcourse). Studing an honours course is much more tougher than engineering as in the later u have the semister system of examinations which is less strainous and more scoring. Besides incase if u fail to acquire the pass marks there are supplementary exams held to ensure u get the degree.
U have to be fast, intelligent and a science/tech. lover to get into it. So try to increase ur mental ability (solve puzzels etc. etc.) and logical reasoning. Most importantly study hard and don't ever lose hope. Remember if u have the will and u are true to urself nothing can stop u, U R THE BEST. Concentrate especially on Maths, Physics or Chemistry but don't neglect the others, as the overall 10+2 result is necessary to get into any other course.
Among technical courses other than engineering u can check out BCA ( H ), BOptm etc. and certificate courses like CCNA, CCNP, RCH etc. For any further help contact me at "anneshan04@yahoo.com", BEST OF LUCK!!!

I am not an engineer, but I used to work with a lot of them at Dell Computers. Of course they were Electronic Engineers and there are many kinds. But the basics are similar.

Take as many math courses as you can. The higher you math skills are the better you will do. Also, study physics and any science courses related to the field you want to go into. It is not hard to get into engineering, but it takes hard work and perseverance.

Good luck to you.

Is not hard if you have the passion to start, but the question is are you willing to finish it??

You have to make sure you are able to keep it up with all the stress and work you have ahead and you need to ask what kind of Engineer you want to be. You should talk to your school counselor. He or she will lead you in the right direction to fallow. In the mean time, search the Internet if you know somebody in that area ask that person.

This is the time to ask and search before you make your decision, when you do have a path to follow, do it with all your heart and good luck to you.

It all depends on what school and what major. Normally, though math and science heavy is never a bad idea. If you want to do medical or chemical engineering, make sure you load up on your biology. If you're more interested in electrical, take some courses in programming and lots of physics and math.
