hi,today at school i got very angry.some of my friends were talking about girls like they were trash!i got really angry so i said: look, can't we just talk about something else. they made some jokes about girls in general and the teacher laughed along with them. i shouted that they were all morons and that i didn't expect them to know what a girl was with their brains. the teacher put me in detention and so i said your just as bad as them. did i do the right thing?

yes you did right you stood up for your own opinions and morals, the teacher was wrong to tell you off for it altho maybe you were told off for shouting in class rather than staying calm.

If you want to take it further I recommend you & at least 2 others stay behind after class & then you can ask why he feels that talking about his female students in that way is fine & why you do not agree with the detention.
That way you will know why the teacher acted like he did and you will also have witnesses if you want to take it further

I think you did the right thing. Talking back to a teacher might not be the best idea, but you stood up for what you believe in and that took a lot of guts. Bravo!

Way to go! It was totally the right thing to do... and I bet that if you talked to your principal, you could get that teacher to realize just how wrong he was. (male teacher, right?) There are rules about gender equality and setting good examples just like there are rules about not sleeping w/ students. These rules are just not as often stressed.

Hey, you are one of the good young men out there who believe that women aren't trash like ur friends. keep it up!
Anyway, I think that you should avoid those so-called "friends".
Always treat women with respect, because you came from a woman & one day u will marry a woman.

Yes, good for you , you spoke your mind and didn't follow the crowd. You can also let the principal or teacher you trust about that certain teacher's behavior. It is very unprofessional and he needs to be reprimanded.

Yes of course you did..............Good for you for standing up for what you believe in. A bit unfair of the teacher to give you detention though...you were only expressing your opinion.

you did the right thing. it really isn't polite to talk about other people its just plain rude. they mainly do it due to there own insecurities. if the teacher gave you detention she is in the wrong and i would take it to someone higher then her.

Yes you did the right thing. Nobody deserves to be made fun of regardless of their gender. That teacher can lose his job for sexual harassment.

Hooray for you!!!!! Not many young men see women as people today, thank you for being one who does. You did the right thing even though you were punished for it, that is to be admired, never change, okay?
