OK .. from me this one is obvious .. Plato
Plato was the one who looked for proof of "real" god and found that the universe was created perfect because the sun went around the earth in a perfect circle. ... give him credit for good observations and great logic ... (and he did not want to drink hemlock like Socrates was forced to for proving all gods were fake)
Plato was one of the founders of our science knowledge. He took a world tour to learn from every source of knowledge then returned to Athens and opened the ACADEMY, a center for learning that stood as the worlds greatest university for 900 years. Sadly religious bigotry forced its end.

Since jim can't be Joan of Arc, I choose her. I think it would be cool to have visions and fight in wars and stuff. But can I skip the burning at the stake? That would suck.
