She's always done it since she was a kitten especially when someone is petting her. I just wanted to make sure it was normal and not something to be worried about. She's a mixed breed rescued from a pound.

It is very normal...every cat I've ever owned has done it. It just means they are extremely happy...I read it in a book about cats once, but don't remember the name.

I don't think that it's normal, but it's not abnormal. I had a cat do that and she would drool when she was excited to see someone and being petted. Well, not excited, excited. Just happy! But no matter what it is, its still gross.

Cats who drool may have some tooth problems. I'd take her to the vet and have her teeth checked out. Otherwise she could just have overactive salivatory glands.

One of my cats does this. It gets worse as he ages. He leaves one corner of his mouth open and lets it all run out...
