If people impose Jesus on Lifes by simply talking about the Lord. Don't Athias people impose on believing in nothing like a practice?
And Wouldnt that make them a religion?

(by the way I love the Lord, and we will all see what happens the day we die)

We won't (necessarily) see what happens the day we die if our consciousness ceases to exist. Because by the time our consciousness was gone, we wouldn't have it anymore to know it's gone.

Athiesm is a belief system, that's true. Heck, even agnosticism can have a belief system. Does that make it a religion? I'm not convinced. I will admit that it is hypocritical for Athiests to say "don't talk about religion" but only if they talk about why god doesn't exist. Asking for a particular subject to come up is not the same thing as bringing up the subject but only if it supports one's point.

Of course, you're likely to pick the best answer as the person that just flat-out agrees with you, which is fine. Anyway, the biggest reason why I think athiests are more "in the right" in this situation is because they're in much less number. While radicals on both sides certainly exist in more equal amounts, you have to admit that most of the people in the US would consider themselves Christian. If you don't, then you lose the arguement where that works for you, rather than here where it's the Christians being picked on. Sometimes, things don't work both ways...

it is Atheist (combo latin word meaning no belief of God) and yes, it is, by general definition a religion, but that doe not totally make them self contradictory. Athism simply states that there is no God because no God is necessary for the operation of the world. Though that is an obviously flawed belief seeing as certain things in the world would not be right without a supreme being over them, it is still safe to say that they are not contradicting themselves at all. They are just blind and deaf realistically. They do not necessarily believe nothing, they just believe that God is not necessary to their beliefs. So it is a religion in and of itself, just not a religion in that worship of a diety is included.

The dictionary definition of religion is: "Belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe."

Given the definition Atheism is not a religion because there is no worship of a supernatural power ..ie..deity. Atheists are without religion.

No. a religion by its definition is faith in the existance of some sort of afterlife or higher power. Atheism by its definition denies such beliefs. Ergo, it is the complete and total opposite of religion.

Atheist. And yes they do. They don't want their to be freedom of religion. They want to be free from religion and try to convince everyone as well.

They are absolutely no different. Persuading someone to your idea is still persuading. And convincing someone that there is no religion is still religious.

I am not sure they classify as religion, but they sure do hang aroung religious discussion alot to discuss something they believe does not exist.

Surely if there is nothing there, then there is nothing to discuss with.

I impose nothing.

But I don't expect to be able to convince you of that. Your mind seems made up.
