Not really, but they both have motors that spin an arm. A food processor cuts and blends food, while an ice cream maker churns the cream and sugar while it cools it to freezing - preventing ice crystals forming and ruining the texture. If you want to make ice cream without a maker, put cream, sugar and flavourings inside a securely sealed small ziplock bag. Place this bag inside a large freezer ziplock, and add lots of ice and coarse salt. Seal the large bak and shake and squeeze until the desired consistency. ENJOY.

Not even close.... An ice cream maker chills and turns slowly.... A food processor just chops, slices and grates with no chilling.

No, food processors can chop, slice, mince, puree foods. Ice cream makers are just what they are called, they make ice cream.
