Normally when it's thundery, it's also warmer. The bacterias present in the milk thrive in warm condition, so they do better in the warmer conditions of a thundery day than they do in a slightly cooler day.

As the bacterias grow and multiply happily, they consume the sugars in the milk and the by-product is acid. This turns the milk sour.

Are you trying to say that you have taken hundreds of identical samples of milk and exposed each of them to either thundery or normal weather conditions and found out that, somehow, either preexisting bacteria in the milk started growing faster or that bacteria somehow teleported into the milk due to the thunder? I don't think so.

Milk turning sour is due to bacterial action. There actually is a remote possibility that what you suggest might be true, but I don't think it has ever been measured: the air during a thunderstorm has a different electric charge, and it obviously affects the behavior of large animals, like ourselves. It is CONCEIVABLE that the bacteria might actually reproduce faster when the atmosphere is negatively charged. My observation about temperature during thunderstorms is the opposite of the other answers: it is always cooler, so it ought to have the opposite effect, i.e., the bacteria ought to be reproducing more slowly.

You got me, maybe the humidity? Do you leave it out on purpose on thundery days? It's more expensive than gasoline per gallon, I just can't take a chance like that!
