There's no trans fat and you bake them in the oven. Is there something they do when processing them that still makes them unhealthy?

If you're going to bake your fries in the oven anyway, why don't you try using your own potatoes. I call these Dump Fries because they're dumped into a bag & then dumped out, lol.

Cut your potatoes in half, then in half again & then cut small strips. Leave the skins on for more nutrition.

Spray your cookie pan with whatever oils you prefer.

Dump the potatoes into a big ziplock bag. Sprinkle with olive oil, & spices that you like on your fries. Perhaps garlic powder, onion powder, salt & pepper, chili powder, paprika, etc. Then close the bag & mix it all up until all the potatoes are covered in spices.

Spread out in a single layer on your pan & bake in the oven the same way you'd do the ones from the frozen bags in the store.

Fast & easy & healthier for you because you know and control the ingredients.

It's the frying that makes french fries so high in fat. Baked fries should be ok for you. Potatoes have a decent amount of fiber. Yes, they are high in carbs, but unless you are diabetic, you generally don't need to worry about that. Just watch the total calories and how much (if any) saturated fat is in them.

Potatoes, by some, are considered nothing less than a huge sugar cube (aka: starch).
