God doesn't kill people for adultery. (You may be alluding to OT law. Jesus fulfilled the law. ) When you look at what the true definition of adultery is, most of us are guilty of it. He hasn't killed me for my adultery. (although we are not guaranteed 1 more second on this earth. He is merciful because he gives you a choice of whether or not you will spend an eternity in torment. He is merciful because he gives us what we don't deserve - Forgiveness. Don't forget, if man would have obeyed God, there would be no death at all. God is so good, he provided the cure. Jesus Christ.

God no longer punishes people with that method. Before Jesus Christ, He exercised a closer, more brutal relationship with His people. Finally He sent Jesus to be die for the sins of the people. While horrible things still do happen in the world (Tsunamis, murders, etc), they are not God punishing people. These things are the natural result of the free will of people (crimes) or of things set in motion long ago (natural disasters). A child does not die of cancer because he or his parents sinned, but rather because bad things happen in the world. God steers His people toward any good that may be found in the situation and He grieves with them.
This is my personal belief about the situation. There will be many different beliefs about this issue, but I hope that this one will help.

God doesn't kill anyone, people kill people, god is a figment, a non-entity.
See how easy these questions are when you realize the subject being questioned is no more real that sock drawer goblins.
If you want a real answer, here you go.
First off, Death doesn't mean anything. Killing someones not a punishment if they go to eternal bliss now is it. Theres no record of them going to hell, just them being killed. They could all be having a giant hottub party up in heaven. So thats why god gets to kill whoever the heck he wants and still be more merciful than us, he gets to choose who gets to go into heaven after they're dead, not us.

I am guessing the "Killing" by God you are referring to is what is referred to in the bible. I am basing my answer on Christian doctrine.
My understanding is that on earth, we have a lifetime of chances and the choice to repent of sins (such as lying, stealing, etc) and accept God's provision for payment for our sins, thereby having them removed from our "record" before God. God's mercy is shown in that he has made a way for our sins to be forgive before we ever reach our final reckoning before him. However, when we get before God, all of our chances are over and we have a final reckoning and God does not make the mistake of convicting the innocent.
However, on earth, we humans have devised laws that allow for punishment of various types of crimes against each other. (Interestingly enough in the past (Western society) and still in some countries, crimes such as stealing and adultery were/are punishable by death.) We as humans have decided to recognize different degrees of severity in crimes. Some crimes are less severe and we have agreed those convicted of those should have a chance to rehabilitate themselves after paying a debt to society for the crime. Other crimes we have agreed are so severe that a person who commits that crime does not deserve another chance and should pay the ultimate price for that crime.
Of course this is assuming we completely understand God and his standard of judgement. I am not sure exactly how accurate our understanding is.

I haven't seen God on television in a courtroom lately with any robes on passing death sentences on anyone for lying, stealing, and adultery. We also have capital punishment for other crimes besides the two you just named. Quite frankly I think there are several other crimes that if the person is convicted it should be an automatic death sentence. Some examples that come to mind:kidnap and rape of young children, babies, and mentally handicapped persons, child pornographers( those who make the films and those who are sick enough to watch them). God passes judgment after you are dead, but anyone who believes in Christ as savior in their lives can be forgiven if they truly repent of their sins.

Not so. If people suffer negative consequences it is because of their own poor choices. If people blatantly sin knowing that what they are doing is wrong, figuratively spitting in the face of God, can you blame Him?
God will be merciful, but He will not be a doormat.

in case you imagine this kind, then the regulation certain nevertheless applies. The regulation is our kindergarten to coach us. to pass previous the regulation, one has to pass previous that degree once you're able to stay morally without the regulation. it is like gaining expertise of a language. if you're beginning out, you're taught straight forward guidelines. purely once you get to the point of a Shakespeare or Dickens do you go beyond the guidelines. It does no longer propose you're a rule-breaker; extremely the guidelines change into area of you and also you area of them.
