Your sister is not dating you. Now, fast forward...say you date this 18 year old. Say it works out. Say in twelve years you are married and have a 4 yr old and 6 year old, with 1 dog and 1 cat...thinking about a guinea pig for the 6 year old....How old are you both?
She would be 30 and you would be 36. Is that such a big difference?

Funny, when you are younger the maturity difference is HUGE, but as we age, we a closer maturity wise. I think the issue your sister has is with you dating someone she could view as a friend, and if it does not work out, then you would be uncomfortable with your sister being friends with your ex, and she would feel stuck in the middle, and hearing stuff no sister should hear about her stupid older brother....
that is why she is hating it. The age difference has little or nothing to do with it.
You should date who you want, as long as they are of legal age. Just don't date your sisters circle of friends cuz that is like dating your dumb little sister....eeewww.

I don't think it's that big of a deal. I dated a guy that was 9 years older then me when I was 19 about to turn 20. There is a difference in maturity level though... If you really care about this girl, and she cares about you, just go for it.. your sister will get over it...

everyone is different, there is nothing wrong with it, however my rule is that the first number of the age of 2 people should match up. (18-19, 24-29, 33,39). however, 5 yrs is not a large gap and its legal so do what u want!!

No! You're not too old for her! If you like her and she likes you, then it's all good. I speak frome xperience, everyone! I met my boyfriend when I was 18 and he was 39. (Of course, he didn't look like it) and we fell deeply in love. We stopped working in the place we were at (we met at work) and now have our own jobs and have been together for 2 years now. We have a beautiful baby girl and we'll be getting married in a year or two. Life is good, and if you worry about what other people think, you're losing out on what could make you really really realy really really (really) happy.

Do what your heart says and stop worrying about what other people think! Be your own man!

Age really isn't that big of a deal if you're both within 10 years of each other, after that it could be kinda weird. My wife is 21 and I'm 26, so we're about the same age differece as you. If you like/love her, go for it.

When my husband and I met, I was 18, he was 25. We married a year later...I was 19 and he was 26. Thirty Three years later...looks like it worked for us:-) I've always been attracted to a more mature man. It really does depend on compatibility...date. Get to know each other.

After a person turns 18 it is up to the two people in the relationship not anyone else.
