My opinion, let someone chase her around and then once caught, stick her in a tub. Just as she is about to pass out, pull her out and do it all over again. 5 times to be exact. That is the most horrible thing. Insane or not, she should have been found guilty of murder and sentenced to die. She didn't take pity on those babies so why should anyone take pity on her??

I agree. What kind of justice system do we have where we let people who knowingly kill their FIVE children off not quilty, and they get to go to the funny farm for a while. She should have been executed in the worst way, 5 times over. I am sad that those poor children will never get justice, and I hope she burns in eternal hell fire. She wasn't even remorseful. I read all the evidence, no way should she have gotten an insanity judgement. You cannot give a verdict of not guilty by reason of insanity when someone knows what they did was wrong. SHE WAITED UNTIL HER HUSBAND LEFT! Satan does not wait until hubby is gone to come get your kids. What a crock, those jurors are going to have to deal with letter a baby killer off, I just hope they can deal with that burden.

Yes, she was found not guilty.. Which is an egregious act by our court systems. She was originally found guilty, however this was turned over on appeals because of "erroneous statements" that may have influenced the jury. Yet she is going to be spending time in a correctional facility. She is to be institutionalized, periodically appearing before a judge to determine if she is fit to re-enter society. However, I personally hope she spends the rest of her life in an asylum, because she needs serious help to problems that can not be fixed. That is just a personal opinion though. (Even though the excuse was post-pardum (not sure spelling) depression, this does not condone the act of murdering children). Hurting children in any fashion is one of the worst crimes that exists in our society.

yes i heard about and she was clinically suffering from Postnatal Psychosis or something to that affect. It is a real illness and the people around her should of caught it just as she should have.
I'm not playing that blame game or anything like that, but after i had my first baby i was diagnosed with postpartum depression and sought help. If my husband hadn't said hey your not your self and took me to the Dr and had me evaluated i wonder where i would of ended up. With my second child she is 5 months now i suffered baby blues but that was it. I went to therapy after her and I am fine now.
Anyways It is a real illness and the Dr's, and her family should have noticed that something was off. I knew the day that it went to trial that it would be found not guilty just for the fact that they diagnosed her with postpartum psychosis.

Insane. That's what she is. Therefore, not guilty.
Yates, 42, will now be committed to a state mental hospital, with periodic hearings before a judge to determine whether she should be released. An earlier jury had found her guilty of murder, but the verdict was overturned on appeal.

She was found not guilty by reason of insanity.... So now she gets to go to a cushy psychiatric hospital and possibly get out. They should at the very least tie her tubes. They should also charge her husband, her family members and doctors with something for the fact that thy knew that she was suffering from severe post partum depression and doing nothing! People, if you know someone isn't all there PLEASE dont leave them home alone with children.

Yes it pisses me off. Everyone keeps saying "you would have to be crazy to kill your children" but that is a load of crap. You just have to be sick and evil.
I never understood how she could do it even before I had kids, and now I am 35 weeks 5 days prego and I REALLY can't understand!
That jury did not do those little ones any justice.

she should be put to death. if she was not insane (which is dumb because you'd have to be to kill your own kids,) then she will never be cured, thus it is a waste of time and money trying. if she is curable, then once she is better, she will see what she has done, and will then go insane. if i ever went insane and did something this horrific, i would not want to know i did it.
