how can a city be 'closed'?

i love brighton. i tell everyone that goes to london for a weekend-trip to better catch the next train to brighton!

It's a few years since I was in it but I got the impression then that I'd rather be at the bottom of a latrine. Has it got worse?

i went there for my birthday last year with my boyfriend and it was great.the only thing is the sea gulls are mutant as i have never seen them as big as they are in brighton.we spent our time getting drunk and partying at the sea front bars.

brighton, went there recently to vist sis at uni, much better than i expected, and pebble beach too!! not sandy.
