Then couldnt one say that not all whites are neo-nazis, but neo-nazis are white? So should we monitor all the white people?

All terrorist are not Muslims, we have some of our own homegrown terrorists (white supremacists and the like....) The Unabomber might have been considered a terrorist, Tim McVeigh certainly was one. The idea isn't to monitor everybody, but to be aware and vigilent.

The best way to stop terrorism is to have a world where everyone is free from hunger and want, free to practice religion or not, and free to express their opinions openly without retaliation.

A pipe dream perhaps, but the only real solution to terrorism is to remove the grounds for it, however unjustified we believe them to be.

I think they looked at things like this in the book "1984". The last thing I would want is big brother watching me, and worrying that if I say something to piss someone off, I will end up dead.

In this country you have freedom of speech, and you can believe whatever you want to. If you start to limit that, then you step onto a very slippery slope. Where would it end??

We shouldn't monitor someone solely because of their religious beliefs (that pesk freedom of religion thing) or their opinion (another basic right). If someone gives just cause for being monitored (even if they are joking), then maybe they should be "monitored". But not everyone of a certain sect or race. That is very wrong.

That's not true AT ALL, are terrorists are NOT muslims, in some respects you could call some of the actions of the US terrorist, and neo-nazis are terrorists as well they use fear to get what they want.

All generalizations are just plain bad.

Each culture, race, religious affiliation, civilization or cult consists of many personalities.

Very intelligent question buddy. I don't think that any particular race or religion should be blamed for the actions of a small minority.

I don't know who told you that all terrorists are muslims. In the US we've had a bombing in Oklahoma City (anti-government), the Unabomber (anti-technology), abortion clinic bombers (evangelical Christian), Olympic Park bombings (???). Catholic and Protestant bombings in Ireland. Hindu bombers in Kashmir...
