puppy food. this will help her when she has the puppies. all the puppies will take a lot out of the mamma and puppy food replilnishes it in a way. it's good for the puppies also after she is has had the babies keep her on puppy food till she completely stops nursing. Have you ever seen a mamma dog that looked completely horrible a couple of weeks after birth, she isn't getting enough nutrition to support her and the babies. all preg dogs after birth don't look the healthiest but this will definetly help

You don't need to change the diet till the third and last part of the pregnancy, when fetuses start to grow. At the age of six weeks, for example, developing puppies of a female hound dog weighing 13 kilograms, have 14 grams of weight each one. Normally, you should increase food in 10% weekly, starting on the sixth week after mating. It is also convenient, to divide the daily ration in many smaller proportions, cause while growing, fetuses reduce the stomach capacity at the same time as the mother needs more food.

A good brand of puppy food...when is she due? A few days before delivery of puppies, start feeding her cottage cheese (a couple tbsp full 2-3x a day)...continue until the puppies are a week old...continue puppy food until the puppies are weaned...if mom is thin (not normal) continue feeding PF until she gains a little weight back.
Also buy a book on breeding (your dog's breed)

I feed puppy food, but the pregant dogs I take in are out of shelters and off the street. The puppy food helps get extra nutrients to the babies.

Why would you not want to feed her? Do you have problems? Maybe you should not have a dog.
