My niece has had a problem with low energy and has been looking to lose a few pounds, so she started getting Vitamin B12 shots to boost her energy through the day and has lost 13 lbs! I am tired a lot too and need to lose some weight as well...any of you ever heard of or tried this yourself? I just wanted to get as much input as possible before calling my doctor. Thank you.

Yes...and it's totally safe since it is a vitamin. But definately go through your doctor. They have B-12 pills over-the-counter, but the doctor would be able to tell you exactly how much your body needs. And to me, the shot works much better.

I have heard of B-complex vitamins giving a boost to metabolism and providing the body more energy. Many energy drinks contain them for this reason. I wasn't aware of the weight loss aspect involved, but it would make sense it the metabolism was boosted. Also, they may give more energy that can be used for a more active lifestyle.

If you've ever heard of the Dr. Bernstein diet, that's bascially what he does. You follow the Dr. Bernstein diet (which is basically a low carb one) and the you have to go into the clinic each week to be injected with a mix of B12 and a few other vitamins and nutrients. And YES IT WORKS!

The closest thing I've done is used Vitamin B-6 for relief of carpal tunnel symptoms. However, I do assume that this may be effective but would recommend using a low dosage such as 50mg.
