A crew of us are shooting a music video which incolves a female shaving her head. Wasn't my idea, but I 'll say I'am fascinated by the look of a confident bald woman. We are still looking for our model and my wife came out and said she would like to be the model since it would give her a reason to shave her head, but she doesn't want to be in the video - she doesn't like being on film. So she said if we can find a main girl to shave she will shave in the background of the scene. Only problem is we are thinking of changing the video since it is hard to find a female to shave her head. I explained to her she would look sexy exposing her head, it would bring out her eyes and smile. She wants to do it, but worrys what people will think unless she has a reason to do it. So my question has a few questions - how do I find a girl for this video? why does my wife want to shave he head (i am cool with that, but shall I let her?) and what is my backup plan to still get her to do this? Dave, if your wife is willing to play the role getting her hair shaved I strongly suggest you find a way to work that into the video!! That look on a lady, especially one with a nice shaped head, is powerful. By the sound of it you agree that other less noticed features like her eyes & smile will shine through so it sounds like she is an ideal candidate suited for that look.
She is so typical 'worrying' about what others will think!! I doubt if she worrys what others say if she buys white bread versus wholewheat bread!! Her hair (or lack of it) shouldn't decided upon others opinions. I think she is super generous to offer to help you out so personally.
Next thought is "who is doing to cut & shave" her head? Although it is not 'rocket science', make sure the process is not going to 'injury' her or leave temporary abrasions. Just go to a hairdresser who can properly teach you how to do it. Actually, I think you should take the opportunity to do it for this purpose!!! It will mean something more to the whole purpose.
You didn't mention if your wife has long hair or not so here is another suggestion. If her hair is in the long style, why not give the lengths to Cancer for use in building 'human hair' wigs for Cancer patients!!! Check with local hairdressers associations who might be aware of such a cause in your area!! Not only would your wife's locks be helping in your cause, but it would have the additional benefit of helping a young cancer victim.

You may want to consider taking an ad out in the paper, and not necessarily the main rag but maybe an alternative paper or a local music magazine.

I don't know the people who run this site personally, but I know they've had it up for about a decade. They are based in the Chicago area. I don't where you're located, but that shouldn't be a problem. They have contacts all over the country that may be able to help you with your request. It should improve your chances of finding a woman willing to shave her head on video.
As for your wife, it's a shame she's camera shy. But she's very brave for considering to shave her head. You're right, though; if she has beautiful eyes, smile, skin, etc. a shaved head will bring out those beautiful features even more. She shouldn't worry what other people think; it's obvious that's why she's a bit reluctant. But a shaved head is not forever; her hair will grow back if she doesn't like it.

I can't tell you how lucky you are. I would do anything to have a girlfriend shave her head to help me out. In my opinion every woman looks great with a bald head.
I think you should let her because on the one hand you will have a shaved head. Two it's just hair in a month or two it will grow back, everyone wants to try something new.
Three, thing of how much money you'll make (on the video, and on savings from the hair products).
And lastly, there's nothing wrong with it, it will just grow back.

depends on how high grade of an editing system you have and how much motion you have in the shots of the women getting her head shave, but you can overlay the video track with a model and hid your wives face.

talk her out of it!! she'll probably look a mess. do it for your own sake. you don't want to have go around the streets with some bald woman, and then everybody thinks that your husband, and not your wife!!!!
