why do people get animals and not have the money to take care of them with quality food, and health care, I hope they never have children.

I just don't get it! I understand that people may hit bad times but responcible pet owners would think ahead and have some money set aside for emergencies so sick and injured cats can get the care they need.

don't people realize it's worse on the cat to put them through all of that.

PEOPLE PLEASE THINK ABOUT YOUR DECISION TO HAVE A CAT. SOMEONE SAID ON HERE I'VE SEEN,

BEFORE GETTING A CAT MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE TIME, SPACE, AND MONEY! I think that was what the person's criteria are. PLAN for your animals!

I agree with you; people don't plan ahead the way they should. Pets should be fed properly, housed properly, an given love and medical attention when they need it. I think the person who said about impulse buying is correct, as well as the theory that people think of saving the animal by adopting it, but not so much about future expense. I agree that people don't need to buy premium pet foods, but I don't think that is what you were implying, either.

I think we put too much stress on animal care these days. That's not saying that sick animals shouldn't get the care that they need but farm cats getting fixed and having all their shots that's a different story. I'm not sure what you mean by setting aside money for quality food and health care. I feel like off brand cat food is a gourmet treat considering the alternative of starving to death on the streets somewhere. Don't criticize ppl for what they are doing when they are doing the best they can. If animals are well nourished aren't being abused and have a dry place to sleep at night then I say hey at least they've taken an interest.

Yeah. Some people buy pets on impulse because they are cute, having no idea what a huge responsibility they are.

because they think they are doing good to this animal by buying it instead of having it killed, then they dont think whether they will be able to take further care of it.
