I read on here day after day about how people bi tch and complain about bush, or how they hate america, or so on.... My question is how many of you have been to a country outside of america and can honestly say its better than what we have here! We have way more freedom than anyone gives us credit for! I mean if i want to drive to california today i can no questions asked? If i want to drink, do drugs, so on its my choice, Not all choices are legal but you have choices!!! There are so many countries that have it so much worse off than we do? so why do so many people compain about it? I mean i understand you may not aggree with The president, but does that give you the right to complain about it? I mean its not like he sits in a chair and decides what goes on, thats why there is a structure that takes care of it? And its not like he can control things like hurricanes, or terriost.. I am not saying hes the best pres by anymeans, but i am also saying i wouldn't of bitched even if careywon

AMEN!! After visiting other countries (European and South American) I cannot imagine calling anyplace home except America. They don't even have 7-11's in Europe!! Ok, some may say this is an advantage... except for the 2 a.m. beer run and nothing is open in Europe! HA! I'll take America anyday, even if the president is someone as horrid as Bill Clinton!

NYJETS: 1) Jets suck 2) Can't you guys come up with a better/more creative cheer than "J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets"? and 3) Just disagreeing with the govt doesn't make you unpatriotic; there are PLENTY of ppl on here who claim to hate America, hate everything it stands for, and wish America didn't exist yet they call themselves "Americans".... those are the people referenced in this question.

I love america, and I am glad we live in a country that people can disagree with the government without being put to death. So wether someone dislikes Bush, that is thier right to do so.

Disliking Bush does not make you unpatriotic.

YES the US constitution give us the RIGHT to complain about Bush, or Kerry, or the prices of Gas, or electricity, or whether or not they should be able to smoke pot, or crack or alcohol. I would hate to live in a country that did not guarentee its citizens that right.

the US constitution also gives americans to rise up and overthrow an unjust leader through revolution. Keep in mind the patriots of the US Revolution in the US are the Rebels of England.

i'd like to share two pertinent quotations from the anals of history with you. Maybe they will help answer part of your inquiry.

First, the older one-
'dissent is the highest form of patriotism'
-thomas jefferson said that

second one-
'there can be no great disappointment where there is no great love'
-martin luther king jr said that one

please think about those things very carefully.

today's climate of anti-dissent has been deliberately put into place by this administration. It is far better now, but from january 2003 until august 2003, dissent was NOT ALLOWED in this country. It was scary and ironically, the very antithesis of what we profess to stand for.

think about those two quotations please. the people that are screaming and yelling about bush love this country JUST AS MUCH, perhaps even MORE than those waving the flag, calling them un-american.

Yes! Americans are blessed!! That does not mean that we get to act in an unneighborly manner. Our government has unlawfully invaded another country without just cause and set up house. Not to mention unlawful domestic wiretaps, detainments without due process in America and Cuba, constant lying and denials, politricks abound, service persons are being killed and raping /murdering civilians,no bid contracts-biased,withdrawing troops while only rotating them in and out of the war zones, oil is the only reason that we are there in the first place(What else is there???). Democracy and patriotism are the cover story with fear leading the way. America is the big dog. It would take an agreement among quite a few countries to wage any kind of successful war against US.All i am saying is be responsible for your choices!!! See the whole picture. On the home front, there are repeated attempts to bypass environmental concerns and other business important to the operation of this country. Please take off the blinders. Only each individual can do that for themselves. As an American citizen it is your right and responsibility to question and keep in check those that you elect to office on any level. We as Americans seem to have forgotten that and gotten lazy in that aspect of our duties. The results are obvious:stolen elections, corruption, unjust and unlawful practices running rampant. Be the change. Peace.

Amen to that- I totally agree with you. My father is from the Philippines and he came to America by serving in the military. I'm very patriotic and I know we have it good here just from listening to what my father says about being in other countries (of course he traveled a lot in the military). Not to mention what we see in the news about how life is in other countries.

No one said they hate america they just think the president should follow the law, ie. not monitor phone calls, and that there was no reason to go into iraw. Disagreeing with the government is one of the most patriotic things you can do.

True, I have been to other countries (mostly ones that the army sent me to but a few on vacation) and they all suck when compared to the USA

We can ***** and gripe here in the U.S. because that is one of our RIGHTS. In alot of other countries they don't have that right. Just because YOU may not agree with someone else's view doesn't mean they don't think it's better here...obviously they do because they ARE expressing THEIR views.
