Yes, because it's written so that we can known Him and so that we can be saved by His greatest gift of all - Christ. John 3:16 says it all about God's love for us.

If my wife sent me a love letter saying she was going to punish me for something I had no control over, then drown me, then give me boils, then rape my daughters, then kill all my animals, then slaughter my son, all so life would go on pretty much the same, I would honestly say I would be a bit concerned.
I love her, but if she wrote me that, I'm pretty sure I would leave her.
If anyone actually thinks its a love letter, just read Joshua. After you are done vomiting, reconsider your view.

Anyone who thinks the bible is a love letter clearly has not read the bible.
Love letters tell you how wonderful you are. Please find me one line in the bible that talks about the goodness in human beings.

To me, the Bible is the ultimate guide to a peaceful and successful life. Beside the the obvious religious message, it contains valuable life principles that you can follow.
So it's definitely a message of love. ;)

No, but I think of it as a combination of God's instruction manual and the Israelite history of their people.
