I just read another question that insenuated that illegals don't pay their taxes. What gives? How many times must a person explain this : illegal immigrants can(and most do)apply with the government to receive a tax identification number. It is similar to a social security number, not doesn't bring them the same benefits. However, they can work legally with this number and use it on their tax forms in place of a ss#.This gives them the right to collect any refunds due them at the end of the year.
Tax ID# = illegals paying taxes and getting refunds back.Got it now?
If you don't believe me,call your local tax preparer. They'll confirm it.
**** Most illegal immigrants do pay taxes with these numbers and even have numbers for their family they support in mexico or other countries.Seriously and for real.
So,why don't some of these anti-illegals know this?

Why don't they good question. Let me see, if I get paid under the table and $10.00 an hour and I don't have any trail leading to me and I have a whole $10.00 an hour worth of money to spend and not only that I have no paper trail, hmmmmmm lets see. Oh yeah, when I go to apply for welfare, Medicaid and housing and the agency ask for proof and I have no proof because I am not supposed to be working. I Wonder can I afford to trick out my "69" Belaire with the hydraulics that I want. I think I can because I have the stupid Americans paying for everything else. This is a very good reason for illegals not to get tax numbers. On the other hand I earn $10.00 an hour I have to pay $3.50 an hour into taxes to support illegals, does that sound reasonable and fair?
Actually where I live we get a double whammy because I live in the Detroit Michigan area. So we not only get Illegal Mexican aliens, we get them world wide because we are just across the Detroit River from Windsor Ontario.

My boyfriend is from Jamaica. He comes here for 10 months every year on a work visa.He has a social security number/ tax Id number(it's the same thing.) He has had social security taken out of his check every week for the last 14 years. He'll never see any benifits from it unless he eventually gets his green card and stays here. The hotel we work for employs about 100 jamaicans. I wonder where all that money goes!!!
Also when you are an alien you can only work for the company that sponsors you.(legally) Most illegals know this ,and they also know that the goverment can track then down if they use their ssn to get a job without the proper visa!!

it is illegal to hire one whom is not in this country legally, so why would they be given a tax i.d number. the next time a bunch of them try to hop in the back of my pickup truck thinking i want them to do some landscaping I'll ask them if they have a tax i.d. number! LMAO you won't get any sympathy with that crock of ****.
PANCHA.......the key word here is ILLEGAL a non resident working within the system and is here in a legal sense would need a tax i.d. to obtain legal work. The illegals that run across our borders in the middle of the night have no interest in paying any taxes anymore than those who offer them work.
Tinkerbell: I don't hire illegals...as a matter of fact in my business all employees must be US citizens no exceptions as I am a government contractor.

Tax ID #'s are issued by the IRS to businesses so they can pay their operational taxes and sales taxes. You're telling me I don't know what a tax ID number is when I have done business taxes for the past 3 years?
What you are referring to is a tax clearance so those here on visas can pay appropriate taxes. Those that do not have a visa and are here completely undocumented do not pay taxes.
How old are you, 12? Seriously. Someone is a peckerhead because you're wrong? Deal with it and get the arrogant air out from between your ears and actually learn something rather than calling people names.
Are you a tax preparer? Do you work for the IRS? Most likely, no you don't. You are wrong. Take a look at the IRS website. Personal experience? So you're here illegally? I should give immigration officals a call and let them know ;)
Another libtard spoiled brat, I'd be amazed if an MRI of your skull showed a teaspoon of brains.
"Federal Tax ID Number
12.1 Small Business/Self-Employed/Other Business : Entities: Sole Proprietor, Partnership, Limited Liability Company/Partnership (LLC/LLP), Corporation, Subchapter S Corporation
I recently formed a limited liability company (LLC). The LLC has no employees. Do I need a separate Federal Tax ID number for the LLC?
No, you will not need a separate Federal Tax ID number for the LLC if you are the sole owner of the LLC and the LLC has no employees. If you are the sole owner of the LLC and the LLC has employees, you will need to get a separate Federal Tax ID number, if you choose to have the LLC report and pay employment taxes with respect to employees of the LLC. If you are not the sole owner of the LLC, you will need a separate Federal Tax ID number for the LLC. See Notice 99-6, 1999-1 CB 321. "
"As a sole proprietor, do I need an employer identification number (EIN)?
As a sole proprietor, you would need to obtain an identification number if either of the following apply: (1) you pay wages to one or more employees, or (2) you file pension or excise tax returns. If these conditions do not apply, your social security number is your taxpayer identification number. "
"A Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) is an identification number used by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in the administration of tax laws. It is issued either by the Social Security Administration (SSA) or by the IRS. A Social Security number (SSN) is issued by the SSA whereas all other TINs are issued by the IRS.
Taxpayer Identification Numbers
* Social Security Number "SSN"
* Employer Identification Number "EIN"
* Individual Taxpayer Identification Number "ITIN"
* Taxpayer Identification Number for Pending U.S. Adoptions "ATIN"
* Preparer Taxpayer Identification Number "PTIN"
Note: The temporary IRS Numbers previously assigned are no longer valid."
EIN's and TIN's are the same thing, basically. A persons social security number may or may not be used as an EIN or TIN, depending on the company structure. An ITIN is a different matter.
EIN's, TIN's are issued by the IRS.
SSN's are issued by the Governement.
EIN
An Employer Identification Number (EIN) is also known as a federal tax identification number, and is used to identify a business entity. Refer to Employer ID Numbers for more information.
The following form is available only to employers located in Puerto Rico, Solicitud de Número de Identificación Patronal (EIN) SS-4PR (PDF).
ITIN
An ITIN, or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, is a tax processing number only available for certain nonresident and resident aliens, their spouses, and dependents who cannot get a Social Security Number (SSN). It is a 9-digit number, beginning with the number "9", formatted like an SSN (NNN-NN-NNNN).
To obtain an ITIN, you must complete IRS Form W-7, IRS Application for Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (PDF) . The Form W-7 requires documentation substantiating foreign/alien status and true identity for each individual. You may either mail the documentation, along with the Form W-7, to the Philadelphia Service Center, present it at IRS walk-in offices, or process your application through an Acceptance Agent authorized by the IRS. Form W-7(SP), Solicitud de Número de Identificación Personal del Contribuyente del Servicio de Impuestos Internos (PDF) is available for use by Spanish speakers.
Acceptance Agents are entities (colleges, financial institutions, accounting firms, etc.) who are authorized by the IRS to assist applicants in obtaining ITINs. They review the applicant's documentation and forward the completed Form W-7 to IRS for processing.
NOTE: You cannot claim the earned income credit using an ITIN.
Foreign persons who are individuals should apply for a social security number (SSN, if permitted) on Form SS-5 with the Social Security Administration, or should apply for an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) on Form W-7. Effective immediately, each ITIN applicant must now:
*
Apply using the revised Form W-7, Application for IRS Individual Taxpayer Identification Number; and
*
Attach a federal income tax return to the Form W-7.
Applicants who meet an exception to the requirement to file a tax return (see the instructions for Form W-7) must provide documentation to support the exception.
New W-7/ITIN rules were issued on December 17, 2003. For a summary of those rules, please see the new Form W-7 and its instructions.
Undocumented immigrants cannot do this, as they're UNDOCUMENTED. They're here ILLEGALLY. They have to provide many forms of proof of who they are, why they're here, how they got here, prove their visas are valid, and so forth. This is taken DIRECTLY from the IRS web site.

Why does everyone keep bringing this up like it is something new?
A bunch of illegals pay taxes. A bunch don't. It is well known how much they pay, and the amount is taken into account in credible estimates of illegal immigrant costs. (Obviously, incredible estimates abound, as well.)
