I love all the Mastiff breeds, in particular the Dogue De Bordeaux (French Mastiff), the Neapolitan Mastiff and the Cane Corso (Italian Mastiff). They have such great personalities: they are incredibly attached to their owners, and very protective of them. They tend to be a little bit stubborn, and you need to make sure they know who's the top dog in the pack, but if you do they are the best of dogs. They tend to take everything a little slower than most other dogs, and will actually seem to think about it before they follow your command. I also love their droopy faces, and big sloppy kisses!
Also, as a close second, I love the Pitbull breeds (American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, etc). They are so sweet with people (if brought up properly), and can be so funny. Of course, given their history, as well as their bad rap, it is very important to know how to handle them, especially around other dogs.
After those, come the Great Danes, the Newfoundlands and then the Boxers.

Beagles are my first favorite, and very dear to my heart! Why you ask:
1. My baby Oreo (she's my pictrue), is half Bealge and half Terrier.
2. When I lived in Alabama, my next door neighbor had two full-blood Beagles, and the other was a Bealge/Dalmation mix. (Lee and Davis, and G.P.)
3. Oreo's first boyfriend was Lee (one of the two full-blood Beagles)! She really loved him, and I hated to separate them when I moved. :-(
4. I just love Beagles, whether they're full-blood or mixed with another breed!!!
My second favorite is the King Charles Cavalier Cocker Spaniel. I saw a show about the breed on Animal Planet. They're sooo adorable!!!

For me, that is difficult! I have a Westie and a German Shorthair Pointer. They are so very different and I love them both.
The Westie is a favorite if you like intelligence and adoration with a little arrogance.
The GSP is not so bright and very 'clingy' but ever so sweet and a joy to watch run.
Okay then, I vote for both.

A 'Dorgi' - mixed breed of Corgi and Dachshound. They are soooo cute, and the favorite dog of Queen Elizabeth (she has Corgi's) but one of her pets had a secret rendezvous with one of her sister Princess Margaret's dachshounds ... result ... the Dorgi. There is also another mixed breed called the Corgidor (part Corgi, part Labrador Retriever).

My dog! Border collie/Shetland mix. Of course any dog owner would choose his/her own dog is the best breed. I think I don't like owners though... Especially the ones who carry small dogs under their arm everywhere they go.
