the wind energy industry is one of the fastest growing energy industries. I think that there is a great future in this

I don't have much hope for fusion at this point. Scientists were saying it would be a possibility by 2000 when I was in middle school in 1995. Here we are in 2006 and I haven't heard a word about it.

I think we're going to have to go more nuclear. It produces no "green house" gases (not that I buy all of Gore's rhetoric), relatively safe (the way we design them) and the only draw back is we have to be REALLY REALLY careful with the waste it produces.

As far as energy for personal use, I think we're going to see more synthetic fuels like ethynol. Petroleum will always be around but its getting so expensive, the public will demand an alternative.

I think atomic energy is still the way too go. It's like airline travel. Overall, it's safer but when there is accident it can be catastrophic. it gives a great throughput .

Hydrogen and other alternatives are developed enough as a resource to be usable yet.

It's got to be a portfolio of energy technologies and resources, there is simply too much demand to be met by any one source.
Wind, hydro and nuclear are already set to become large chunks of our supply, and biomass, solar and even tidal energy will have their place as well.

I expect it will also become more distributed as this will ease the transmission problems we are currently having - small generators (even residential size) using locally available fuels (wind, sunlight, biomass, etc.) are a great way to go.

SOLAR

solar for electricity through photovoltaics and also heating water to run steam turbines and get hot water for heating.

wind is also solar powered

hydroelectric is also ultimately solar powered
as is biomass for ethanol or methane

when you think about it, the sun is nuclear fusion
and at a nice safe distance.

electricity will be used for ground source heat pumps for heating and cooling. If your house is well insulated or underground you need almost none.

the only thing that is not solar that we will use is geothermal
look at iceland

not both buddy,
its something u call
THE HEART and THE MIND
two things u seldom use together....
bcus to have a thing called future,
u should badly need them as a source of energy
