I'm of the opinion that you no more want your emotions to run unchecked than you want bodily, biological functions running helter-skelter. There is a question of balanced responses to things that are reasonable, prudent and appropriate to every occasion. For instance, belching, yawning, and flatulence are completely natural responses but you don't want to just share that any old time and place...likewise, your emotions should be under your control, not you to their control...especially in relationships, where you're most likely to harm yourself or someone else. You don't want your emotions suppressed because no one wants to be involved with a robot, but you don't want to conversely be an emotional powder keg, either. Balance will serve you well, now and in the future. Best of luck to you.

Relationships are ABOUT emotions. They play a critical part in ANY relationship. Ignoring them is like ignoring your self.
