My country does have the death penalty. I do believe in the death penalty too. If someone kills someone else, then the murderer needs to have justice be done and get killed also. I think that if you kill someone, then you should automatically have the death penalty though matter how bad it was.

My country has the death penalty. I wish it didn't.
My reasons are very lengthy, but they come to this:
1) If someone killed someone I love, I would want them dead. That doesn't mean the state should kill them, though. The state should rise above base vengeance.
2) I don't want any government to have the power of life and death over its citizens. That can be abused, it has been abused in the past for political gain, and it's disgusting in its abuse.
3) The risk of executing the innocent is unacceptable given the punishment.
4) No one will ever convince me that a person spending years in prison with the Sword of Damocles over their head is anything less than prolonged psychological torture.
5) It demeans civilization. Someone wiser than me once said we should judge a civilization by how it treats it's criminals. I judge us poorly then.
6) It is against my religious beliefs. Some people point to the Bible and claim an eye-for-an-eye. I'm Christian, though, and that means I read the New Testament, which has more to do with forgiving.
7) How easy would it be to frame someone for murder in the age of forensics and DNA evidence? Just visit their bathroom, grab a few hairs, maybe steal a knife from a kitchen cabinet, grab a pair of their old shoes, and then leave a few hints connecting them to the victim. Too easy by far.
I could go on and on and on, but you get the idea.

I live in Texas...what do you think. I'm not sure how i feel about the death penalty though. Alot of people say it's justice being served, I however dont believe we as humans have the right to judge...especially when someones life hangs in the balance.
I'll tell you how i believe we should change the justice system:
1. No Death Penalty
2. Let the prisoners who are on Death Row or who are in there for life suffer (i.e. no tv, no exercise, no expensive food,)
3. Tax payers shouldn't have to pay for the killers "stay."

The death penalty is as evil as the crimes it tries to correct. We have no right to judge whether someone should be allowed to live or die. However, I have no problem leaving them in a cell for the rest of their life.

YES. i support death penalty. because if someone did something horrible to anyone in my family, i would want him dead. Slow and painful death to be exact so that he'll realize how much pain he caused not only the victim but also to those who were left in grief.
