I have dell pc, windows xp....the drive on the computer says its a "dvd-rom" drive. the program that i used to burn the dvds is Roxio. I tried to burn it with DVD-R dvds, but that didn't work!!! should i use a DVD+R instead?

well if its says dvd-rom its NOT a writer then.
only a reader. it should have said on roxio no writer drive detected

you need a dvd burner a dvd rom only plays dvds
ROM= read only memory

try using dvd+R.. USE NERO FOR WRITING CDS, ITS ONE OF THE BEST PRODUCTS.
