All the natural laws, order and material for the universe were fixed within the first three minutes following the big bang. What was God doing for the next 14 Billion years before mankind developed language skills capable of comprehending His Word?

actually whynot_tigger, that figure is rounded down and based on observation of distant galaxies 14.2 billion light years away (accurate measurements based parallax and triangulation using closer bodies). That's how long the light took to travel to our eyes, so the universe must be even older than that. So, no, fact, not Sagan.

What makes you think that there might not have been a prior judgement before the flood? Jerremiah 4:23-26, clearly indicate that the earth had undergone a cataclysmic change as the result of a divine judgement.. The face of the earth bears it everywhere the marks of such a catastrophe. So who knows for sure?
