Think about fishing. Here the fish (or us, in this fishers of men description) are minding our own business. Not wanting to be caught, just living our lives. Then someone comes long and catches us (the fish). What happens to them then, they either throw them back or eat them. Either way you get screwed in my opinion. Is being caught a good thing? I doubt it!

Happily you are not a fish, and if a Fisher of men:PP is getting you, you will have a free gift and a happy life after this, and you will not be fried in a pan:)
In the Bible are many storys, but you should understand them according to that times... At the beginning of the first century, the people there made a living using fish...
So if you were a fisher, you were rewarded and happy if you caught fish. If you will be a fisher of men, you will be more happy than caughting fish.
Aren't you glad that this "story" is for people, not for fish?

It was a metaphor Jesus used for Simon Peter because he was a fisher. He used these all throughout the Bible to help relate to people. According to your descrition wouldn't you rather be a fisher than a fish then?

when you put it that way yes. However Jesus was referring to missionary work and when it is done properly it is not offensive or rude. I love what the gospel has brought into my life and I want to share it but I can't force it on someone and anyone that does is not doing it right. However you will not be eaten or thrown back.

Figuratively the term dramatizes how Jeshua's disciples were to fetch "spiritually lost" by feeding them with spiritual food, which when put on a hook of faith would draw men/women to righteousness.

"Give a man a fish, and you'll feed him for a day; give him a religion, and he'll starve to death while praying for a fish."
