No offense to "awolves74" but if you know nothing about a subject why would you answer a question. Obviously she took the does legally in season when the fawns are on there own, summer time shooting is called poaching not hunting, don't confuse the two.
Ok so that's great, congratulations on your two does. Too many hunters focus on bucks only and don't realize the benefit to balancing the herd. Not to mention they are tasty critters. To answer your question, I don't think there is anyone with red blood in their viens that has tried hunting and doesn't like it. Being out in the wild with no phones ringing or people screaming is the best feeling in the world. Then of course is the adrenaline rush when you see your quarry approaching. Above all is the great tasting healthy meat that goes home after a successfull hunt. (no need to pump wild game up with steroids and hormonesto make em grow) God speed to you and keep passing on the word, we need more understanding of this time honoured tradition.

Its okay to shoot does where legal. If one doesn't, they'll crowd out the bucks.
Bucks are only interested in does during the rutting (mating) season, just a couple of weeks out of the year. The rest of the year bucks are only interested in feeding. If a hunting lease is over-run with does, bucks will seek other grounds to feed.
The reason the old heads didn't believe in shooting does was because they thought they attracted deer all the time. We know better now.
Of course, hog hunting is challenging too. Even more challenging than deer hunting. I've recently purchased a .350 Remington Magnum for hog hunting--the new Guide Rifle, and a .458 Winchester Magnum also for the four-hundred lbs. + hogs.
Happy hunting American Princess!

I love hunting, particularly pheasant hunting. You got the instant satisfaction seeing your game drop before you more than once during each outting. Unlike deer hunting, you might not able to fire one shot for a whole day's walk around the woods. Hog hunting is very exciting but I do not care much for the cleaning part. They (hogs) stink like hell. Varmint hunting is also very much fun. It tests your skill at long shots (sometimes as much as over 300 yards) and your equipment (need some very accurate rifles). I consider varmint hunting as long range target shooting.

I love hunting. From the second Sat in Sept (opener) till the 2nd of Jan I hunt every day except for two days when everything is shut down. The rest of the year I go at least once a week for coyote, crow, or other non-game animals that have legal restrictions.

Hunting: I think all it is, is murder at long distance. If you really want to hunt, put your 7mm scoped-power rifle away, get a bow and arrow, and try hunting a bear and then wild hogs first see how much of a real hunter you're. Then, try a deer (with the bow), that I can see.

I've been only hunting actively for two years now but yet to bag my first deer. I love being out there and waiting to have my first opportunity. and as for RdSoxFan; bow hunting isn't for every body taking a deer with a rifle isn't murder. have you ever considered the way a deer dies when shot with a bow compared to a 30-06. a deer slowly dies by trauma from a bow. that's why you follow blood trails for an hour or more.

Hunting for me is like a spiritual return and connection to nature in general. But I don't go hunting for the thrill of the kill. I jenjoy the challenge and sharpening my skills of being in the great outdoors. Generally, I do NOT kill unless I intend to eat what I kill. The exceptions include woodchucks in my garden and coyotes that are overpopulating my area.

I like to go camping with a gun!
I don't usually use it, but it's always a blast waking up at 4:30 am on New Year's Eve to sit in the "shelter" of an ice-cold rock for hours on end watching the nothing go by.
I haven't gone in a few years, but the day come again where I will long for the "great" outdoors.

more and more women are getting into hunting and i think that's great.you cannot possibly have any thoughts about hunting until you try it like you have.
i love everything about hunting, getting the camp, foodplots, hunting gear ready for hunting season, getting away, being in the woods, talking hunting, being with family and friends and of course the long antisipated hunt.
don't argue with non-hunters,they don't understand, most of them have never hunted, they only see you as bambi's murderer.
hope you get to go again soon.
