It's amazing how many people think the word God appears in the Constitution or the Declaration of Indepence. The problem isn't the education system, the problem is the educated (or should I say the poorly educated) Keep in mind that person probably went to a private school.

I really have no problem with people believing in religion. What i do have a true problem with is teaching any form of religion in public schools. There is separation of church and state. Public schools are funded by taxes, which are paid by everyone. There are many religions available and there are those who do not follow religion. If we allowed every religion their holidays, the school year would probably be 2 weeks long. America was founded on the ideas of religious freedom, not christianity. Have your religion, but keep it in the home and your church. Its that simple. If we got rid of religion, we would see no more war.

While I have not used the link you posted, I can certainly imagine the rabid religious extremism that would suggest atheists should leave the country. It should be pointed out to the religious that the Constitution not only protects freedom of religion, but also freedom FROM religion. The extremists need to be reminded that if they want to eliminate, ignore, or revise the Constitution, then they are NOT true patriots. No loyal American would seek to limit the freedoms that so many have died to protect.

No one should be moved anywhere. So what if people are different, I'm a christian and I believe in God and that has abosolutley nothing to do with you and your beliefs. Christianity can be very dangerous especially when tangents like that are created. PS people need to learn how to read you put the question in the Add details.

It was deleted. But I know what you mean. I'm thinking that some kids are getting A's in "skipping class" or "being a brainless moron" and not much else. The US is slipping further and further behind when compared to other G8 countries in terms of education.
The majority of the answers here are ample proof of that.

I'm presuming that yo are referring to the question about our country having been founded on 'CHristian values'. When I tried to post my answer, it turned out that the question had been deleted... so, I'll just paste my answer here:

Excuse me... you must have been absent from school when they taught about the founding of the USA. The founding fathers were, for the most part, Diests, not Christians... and the country was founded on the secular humanist principles that arose from the 'Age of Enlightenment', in France.

You get an 'F'.

I believe the question was from an atheist, and it was meant to be satyrical. Did you read the details on the question? It was something that I believe a Christian would have said in ignorance though.

Too bad it got deleted. But I do know that yes, there will be a long way to go before people accept the truth about our origins. Unfortunately, it's a little harder to explain something they don't really understand, like evolution, to them than it is to explain that the world is round, not flat, like scientists had to do before.

I'm a Christian, but I am very worried about the knee-jerk sort, spouting bible verses out of context that they probably don't understand. But since the basis of Christianity is love, I am hoping that they will get around to that eventually.
