Almost everyone knows of their aggressive door-to-door proselytizing. The organization they represent, known as the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society (WTB&TS), emphasizes end time prophecy and has falsely predicted the end of the world many times. The WTB&TS exercises rigid control over Jehovah's Witnesses (JWs) and prohibits their participation in such common activities as taking blood transfusions, celebrating birthdays or holidays (including Christmas, Easter, and Mother's Day), voting, flag saluting, and military service. Through these restrictions, the WTB&TS builds a wall of isolation between Jehovah's Witnesses and the rest of society.
Are they right in their beliefs?

Ex-JW here,
They are no more arrogant than any other religion that claims to be the true faith and only way to survive judgement day.
They have some different prohibitions like the ones you mentioned. I think it's to show how different they are from other faiths..
They are a cult, like most religions.

They are a cult.
I spent 15 years brainwashed by the JW lies and propaganda.
They aggressive when trying to convert people
"Time Report" Each Jehovah's Witness must turn in "Time Reports" to the elders. Each time they "witness" they record their activities. (book sales, etc.) This report is put on their file. There are secret files kept on all Jehovah's Witnesses which are only viewed by the elders. If a Jehovah's Witness refuses to turn in a time report, they are disciplined and put on list called "irregular publisher." The individual will be on this black list until they again turn in regular reports.
They have many dangerous and deceptive tactics.
But those fully involved in the church do not see anything out side the activities of " the society" or "worldly people" who are not in "the truth"
There are so many holes in the church doctrine if it was a giant sheet of paper it would look like some one went crazy with a shotgun.

Despite the lying slander of anti-Witness agitators, Jehovah's Witnesses have humbly taught that they are *NOT* infallible and *NOT* inspired by God; that's more than 125 years of such clear denials.
Jehovah's Witnesses apply the term "prophet" only in a very limited sense to themselves as a religion, not to individuals. The Scriptures indicate that whenever Jehovah purposes to execute judgment upon a people, he always makes arrangment for a 'prophet's work' as a warning. Their self-description as a "prophet" (in this limited sense) does not indicate special inspired knowledge or foreknowledge, but their willingness to perform Christ's assigned warning work.
What group is working harder than Jehovah's Witnesses to preach God's message globally?
(Amos 3:7) For the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will not do a thing unless he has revealed his confidential matter to his servants the prophets.
(2 Peter 2:5) Noah, a preacher of righteousness...
(Matthew 24:14) And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

No offense to any of them out there, but I feel as though the Catholics are the most arrogant...even though I have several Catholic friends including my wife. A lot of them I have seen are NEVER wrong. I think the JWs go door to door because they are not extremely strong like the others so they want to recruit. Mormons do the same thing. Ultimately, I think that every religion has it's share of arrogance. They all have those members who feel that they are better than all of the others. Religion can make a lot of people very spiteful.

Am I saddened while somebody professing to serve Jehovah, the two by using errors or reason, makes a misstep?? specific. regrettably, as demanding because it is to have self belief *gasp* I too am imperfect:D whilst many have issues of, between different issues, the seen Disfellowshipping, the reason at the back of such grievous self-discipline, is to maintain the congregation sparkling. occasion, while one, understanding finished nicely the Bible's stance on it, makes a decision to pursue an entire life of debauchery, they do no longer look to be Witnesses of Jehovah, nor would desire to they undergo his call. As for lack of understanding. My ineffective, ALL human beings on some point are blind to something:D confident I do discover it embarrassing if individual who needs to be a Witness, then spouts out with some UnChristian perception. that's no longer lots distinctive from Flesh and Blood families. I certainly have a brother, no longer a Witness, whose marriage these days ended. a considerable reason at the back of this being his repeated and ongoing affairs. I of direction became ashamed, embarrassed and Angered by using his movements.

If they were arrogant...dont you think they would keep their beliefs to themselves?? It takes a lot of humility to get out there and talk to people...knowing that more than likely doors will be slammed in your face. My mother was shot in the face while going door to door when she was a teenager. That didnt stop her!! People are not forced to become Jehovah's Witnesses. We are all given FREE WILL to choose how we want to live our lives. SO they are just as right to believe what they want...as you are to believe what you want.

You can never prove who or what is "right", but they are right up their with the Mormons in my book for aggressive proselytizing and condemnation of those who do not share their beliefs.
I've been bawled out by many a LDS or JW on a Saturday morning.

I have never found the JWs to be particularly aggressive. Perhaps you just don't have many "people skills".

I've got no especial beef with JWs. I find their religion equally reprehensible to all other 'book' religions.
