It is getting out of hand. I learned that some Christians on here are hypocrites and compromises with sinners. I learned that unbelievers are hypocrites,haters and immoral hell bounders. I learned that they are some good true atheists that don't want to be involved and they stay clear from this daily mess. I learned also that not every Christian believe as I do. I learned that some agnostics are better people than atheists and some are truly searching. Some pagans and wiccans are hateful and some good ones stay clear from this section too. I learned that there no such thing as a true christian! In all that I learned in these pass 3 months on here, I know that I have not arrived and that I don't know it all but my faith in my beliefs have become stronger and stronger.
I hope you don't get shunned away because of the weak war zone! It's all about motives and true agendas. Avoid the bad and reason with the good.

Better than a real war zone.

Atheists don't play that way. We convince with logic, reason and words. Hellfire, whether on earth or in the afterlife, will not convince us.

In light of the historical wars over religion, as well as many we can see today, we should be thankful we have a forum for (sometimes) civil discussions on the matter without resorting to violence.

I think this is a GOOD thing!

It is also being used as a war zone in the debate between anti and pro illegal immigrants in the US. So I think the answer to your question is that this site's format well suited for this type of "war" and that is enough for parts of it to become a war zone. Maybe an interesting question would be "what are the characteristics that make it suited?".

Well, on the one hand, you have a bunch of people declaring that the myths, superstitions, fairy tales and fantastical delusions of an ignorant bunch of Bronze Age fishermen and wandering goat herders some kind of cosmic 'TRUTH' (without the least bit of credible evidence). Things like:

*  a universe in which all that exists are the earth and heaven
*  solid 'firmmament' structure (the sky) seperating the earth from heaven (terrarium earth)
*  talking snakes (with legs) and donkeys
* shepherd staff turning into an asp
*  demons chased out of people and into pigs
*  friendly spirits
*  evil spirits
*  walking on water
*  multiplying loaves and fishes
*  food falling from the sky
* conception by a ghost
*  people raising from the dead
*  stopping the sun in its tracks
*  parting seas
*  people being bodily sucked up into heaven (which, by the way, lies on the 'other side' of the sky)
*  world-wide flood that drowned the earth to a depth of 40 feet above the tallest mountain
*  creating people from dust bunnies and ribs
*  magical tree of knowledge
*  god speaking from a burning bush
*  ritual cannibalism, by eating god in the form of a cracker.

On the other hand, you've got a bunch of rational people saying "that's insane!"

Don't you think its a good idea to confront group psychosis?

because the atheists are saying that christians dont like them for not being their religion but the atheists have to look through the majority of the christians eyes pretty much any religion that lets you do whatever they want is devil worshiping but if the atheists would stop complaining and show that a lot of them are nice people then the christians wouldnt think that they are devil worshipers
now i will ask a question if atheism is something that means you dont have a religion then why do people treat it like it is a religion?

We have been shedding oceans of blood in the name of religion. Instead of reforming our inner selves, we fight with each other in the name of the religion. We claim that our religion is superior than that of others. No religion teaches us to hate the other religions. We exhibit our ego through our religion. So the places in the world where multi-religions exist have become the sites of war zones. Religion is the main reason for eruption of war in addition to political and economical issues.

I'd agree with you to an extent... I mean we DO have a Religion & Spirituality section on here, so there is bound to be disagreement. As someone already mentioned, it's an easy place to duke it out because you're not actually saying it to the other person's face and can still remain annoymous.

We are in a spiritual warfare. These are not "religious" battles. They are battles against evil and other powers that fight against God. The Day of the Lord will come and the battle will be like nothing anyone could have imagined. God has sent nations to battle Jerusalem---just as He promised He would. Jerusalem will be destroyed. Then God will battle against the nations who took down Jerusalem. And they will be destroyed. This is a battle. This is not a game or a mere fancy.

Behold, the day of The Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and He shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it. For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine [see Signs In The Heavens]. And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible" (Isaiah 13:9-11 KJV)

"For this is the day of The Lord God of hosts [see also The Host Of Heaven], a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries" (Jeremiah 46:10 KJV)

"For the day is near, even the day of The Lord is near, a cloudy day [see also The Clouds of Heaven]; it shall be the time of the heathen" (Ezekiel 30:3 KJV)

"Blow ye the trumpet in Zion [see Who, What or Where Is Zion?], and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of The Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand; A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it [see Never Before, Never Again], even to the years of many generations." (Joel 2:1-2 KJV)

"Woe unto you that desire the day of The Lord! to what end is it for you? the day of The Lord is darkness, and not light. As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him. Shall not the day of The Lord be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?" (Amos 5:18-20 KJV)

"The great day of The Lord is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of The Lord: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers" (Zephaniah 1:14-16 KJV)

"Behold, the day of The Lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle [see Valley of Jehoshaphat]; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then shall The Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. And His feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives [see The Return Of Jesus Christ], which is before Jerusalem on the east [see Why Did They Face East?], and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south." (Zechariah 14:1-4 KJV)

"Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet [see The Elijahs] before the coming of the great and dreadful day of The Lord" (Malachi 4:5 KJV)

Life is a war zone. The battle is for the hearts and minds of humanity. Truth is truth and one of the views must be wrong.

I wager my life and soul with Jesus Christ. I win either way. They lose if they're wrong...

i think of it relies upon on what time of day you're here. there's a Muslim vs atheist "shift", as I comprehend it. Many atheists have merely given up on asking valid questions. the excuses for that are A) Christians, together, have commonplace many times that they are actually not here to benefit. they're basically here to evangelise and to reaffirm on an hourly foundation what they already have faith. Their "faith" isn't something of the type. B) Christians, returned together, have shown that they have no opinion on something in case you eliminate their Bible from the equation.
