It is a debate. In recent times, due to the popularity of tattoos, Rabbi's are discouraging tattoos but also saying that it isn't a serious enough offense to preclude burial in an Orthodox cemetary.
For instance,
Tattooing is an explicit prohibition from the Torah. However, those who violate this prohibition may be buried in a Jewish cemetery and participate fully in all synagogue ritual. While no sanctions are imposed, the practice should continue to be discouraged as a violation of the Torah. At all times a Jew should remember that we are created b'tzelem Elokim. We are called upon to incorporate this understanding into all our decisions.
Alan B. Lucas, Rabbi of Temple Beth Shalom, Roslyn Heights, New York.
That is an example of the typical stance.

Where is the tatoo? Will it be hidden under the clothing or is it visible like, in your forehead? There is a specific division in a jewish cemetery. Usually they locate folks without Tatoo on the north and with tatoo is down south next to the smoking area.

I don't know many cemeteries with tattoos, so I don't think it will be a problem.

alot of orthodox cemetaries won't let you be buried in your desiganated spot if you have tattoos. They will creamate you and put you in a less dignified place.
