I have been through a lot with my son. I so not understand how a mother can kill a baby, let alone 5. This tears me up and just makes me ill. Any reactions to this?

definitely not the outcome expected or wanted -- but she will have to answer to a higher authority at some point and instead of talking about hurting her ( hanging drowning killing ) which would put us on the same level as her -- let us take comfort that justice will be done --sooner or later
would killing her really satisfy ? or would blood be on our hands too ?

The system is messed up. A guy can kill one person and get life or even death but a woman can drown all five of her kids one at a time and get away with it because they thought she was crazy. That is really ****** up. There were other options if she was crazy and she knew that she couldn't have taken care of her kids there is a such thing as adoption. The ***** should be frying right now.

That is terrible, I can't believe she was not found guilty!!!!!!! That sends a great message to other nut jobs who may do the same! I have two children, and I can't image life with out them. I wonder if you are prolife? You seem to be so sincere about in regard to this w/ Ms. Yates. I hope you, as do I, am sicken by the thousands of babies that are aborted everyday. About Ms. Yates, I hope they drown her....

In usa there's a criminal thought in line with previous English regulation referred to as non compus mentis-no longer of sound concepts. That Andrea Yates killed her 5 infants is a given, even with the undeniable fact that, on the time of the act she exchange into shown to be insane and as a result no longer in charge.

It is very sad & it also sickens me but here in the US we have trial by jury for a reason-so a jury of your peers can hear all the evidence presented & decide whether or not someone is guilty. & I wasn't there at the trial so I dont know if I would have thought she was insane too...Obviously shes a little crazy or she would never have killed her own flesh & blood in such a horrible way!! I hope someone gets a hold of her & does to her what she did to her kids...make her suffer the way they did!

Isn't that ironic?
She took the lives of 5 innocent kids and here she is case after case after case, trying to make a statement so she can continue to live! When she wants to win the case and live so badly, how can it be OK to have killed the kids?
She probably knows the value of life. This means she should definitely known the value of her kids life.
But the poor kids....especially the one who tried to run away...the one that was dragged back,....oh god it hurts me so much.
She can WIN all the damn cases she wants to...and LIVE. I will never ever forgive that woman, cos what she did was a crime.
I dont spare the father of the kids either! THE JERK who moved on with his life.

I'm with you on this one. It is insane how people can use insanity as a reason to kill their children. I don't care who you are that is just not right! If you can't take care of your children then why do you have them? What is the matter with people these days? Do they not know that they can give their children to someone who can take care of them and will not harm them??

I think that this women should not even be tried in a jury but should in fact be let to live the same nightmare that her own children lived. There should get someone whom she lovers and trusts with her own life and have them murder her and look into her eyes with the same loving way she looked into her own kids eyes as she murdered them!!
She is a sick individual who should not deserve to live another day!!!
I am a mother myself and I think this shows the injustice of our court system!! I almost think there should be a petition started and sent into this awful court that decided her fate!!!
She should die a horrible painful death!!!!!!!!!!

I am with you on that one. Every time I see her on TV it just makes me sick at my stomach. It should tell you something about our legal system. My child gets on my nerves sometimes too but no way in hell I would ever harm him. If she was insane than I am GOD, because she waited until no one was home and even chased one child that got away. There are no words to describe the pain she should have to endure for that heinous act.

dont want to think much on this cause it hurts my heart to much....but I am sure her day is coming...if the justice system dont take care of her the correct way, I know that God will. But I do think someone should do her the same dang way she did her children. I am a Mom of two and they drive me nuts at times, but goodness how much love I have for them, and to harm them. Never!
