there are 2 kinds of how to acquire citizenship one is by jus sanguinis- by blood and jus soli- by place of birth.
it actually depends on the country in which type of citizenship that they follow, maybe in your country they follow jus soli. That's the reason why it is possible that even if the parents are aliens or an illegal immigrant for that matter, once the mother gives birth in the US it is possible for the child to acquire US citizen by virtue of the child being born in the states.
As for the parents, it is not easy to acquire american citizenship, for one, they have to renounce their citizenship of their country and for the US government to accept their application as an immigrant or a green card holder for that matter.
that is why it is possible for the parents not be an american citizen but their children are american citizens.

It is sometimes a plan. if you are an illegal citizen and have a child that is a legal citizen, what are they going to do? send you back and keep the child, no they are going to try to get you on the track to becoming a citizen. They need to have some way of dealing with this kind of problem, maybe give the child dual citizenship that becomes activated when the child turns 18, so the kid has to go back with the parents.

If there ever was a loophole, this is it. If you're born on this side of the border you are a U.S. born citizen, period. End of story. No matter how we try to spin it, there is no way around it. Imagine 25 years down the line people trying to tell these kids that they're not U.S. citizens. It would be a fight to the finish. Maybe the Constitution needs to be amended.

Neither do I. It's like their "right" to protest. WHAAA??? ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS HAVE A RIGHT TO PROTEST? What's wrong with this picture? I thought that protesting was a right of the CITIZENS of the United States! How can someone who is here illegally have rights under our laws? I don't get it. As far as I'm concerned..illegal negates all rights...including citizenship for your offspring.
