I was cleaning my house yesterday and caught my cat drinking the floor cleaner from the bucket. I rinsed her mouth out and forced water down her throat, but she is not eating or moving much today. What should I do?

Oh dear, i'm so sorry about your cat.........i hope you took her to your vet pronto and he was able to help her..........

years ago i had a pet skunk, next to his cage i had kept my mop and things, somehow he got into some fabric softener, i immediately called the company manufacturer and talked to a person who said that he didnt think it would cause any problems

fortunately no problem that i recall, but boy was he soft furred afterwards. I'm NOT joking!!!! i also have had ferrets, and a raccoon.........they are cute when babies but can get very nasty when they grow older.......the raccoon would climb a tree and ambush people, NOT a good idea.......I ended taking him to a friends farm in the country.........hopefully he had a long life and didnt terrorize anyone else..........
SUGGESTION no wild pets of any kind, you dont need the aggravation or the problems with keeping them
sharon t. from skeeterville ohio yes the bugs are bad here!!!!

Get her to the vet!!! When you washed her mouth out, it may have also forced some of the floor cleaner down her throat. Have the vet make sure that she's not slowly being poisoned. Depending on what type of chemical it was and how much she might have ingested, she might be okay once it exits her system. But from what you have described, she probably needs to get to the vet ASAP! Good luck...hope kitty is O.K.

I'm not a professional by any means, but usually when animals eat or drink something like that there is something wrong. Especially a cat. Dogs can get rid of weird stomach stuff quickly by making themselves purge. Definitely take her to the vet. Something like cleaner can give her kidney failure or eat at her insides.

Bring her to the vet immediately! She's most probably suffering from chemical poisoning.....she needs professional help ASAP! And bring the bottle of floor cleaner along with you too, so the vet knows exactly what she's ingested.

BRING HER TO THE VET RIGHT NOW!!!! Bring the bottle of cleaner if you can it will help the vet find out what toxins were in it. Oh and to the person above DeeDee animals drink stuff that can harm them all the time such as antifreeze.

take your cat to the vet immediately, if it drank floor cleaner then it was poisoned. Just think what drinking harm full chemicals does to are body , and cats are much smaller!

Usually animals won't drink something that would seriously harm them.. she is probably sick to her stomach!! I wouldn't think that it is anything serious other than an upset stomach but i would either call and tell the vet. what she drank and how she is acting or just bring her in...
Good Luck!!
I have 3 cats and they do strange and unusual things all the time!!

Put your cat in a carrier with a towel in it and put this into your car. Get in your car and drive very fast to the Vet. Now!

Take her to the vet, or just wait for her to die!

Amonia is not good for a cat, and who knows, you may have forced water into her lungs when you tried to force feed her water...

I wish you well..
