Based on what? She's a lovely, intelligent and wonderful first lady and we should all be proud to have her and her husband in the White House during these difficult times.

I think her problem has been that she's been asked to be a front for deception. In her first two years, they had her running around and speaking to groups of people like Librarians and Teachers, and her pitch was how much the Bush government wanted to improve education.
But the real priorities were quite otherwise, and so she was set up as a shill.

I think that she is smart enough to know she was used. And while she does look a little glazed and zombied out (and way too face lifted for any reasonable person) in her eyes I can see there's a part of her that resents the position she has been placed in.

What is your definition for a Rotten first lady? What is her job description as first lady? I've met and spent time with Laura Bush and find her to be an intelligent, kind hearted woman.

Uh, she isn't. She is a clasy first lady who "knows her place" and stays in the background. At least she isn't some harridan who thinks that SHE was elected to be President and has a right to set HER personal agenda as the agenda of the Union (ala HRC and her disastrous health care initiative). LB is a classy woman who simply acts as a hostess and wife, much like Jackie Kennedy, THE first lady to be compared with. If only all first ladies could be as classy and composed as LB.

I think Laura Bush is an excellent first lady. She is definitely much more knowledgeable and cultured than her husband. She is also a wonderful spokesperson for the children of our nation. Her work with education programs is topnotch.

I think she is an excellent First Lady......she's an excellent role model for American girls....she expresses herself like a lady, she's attractive, she cares about kids, she isn't ashamed of being a typical mom....she's a first lady that alot of American women can relate to and look up to. Hillary on the other hand spent most of her first lady years trying to pretend she didn't know the truth about her husband's philandering. And let's not mention the how she looked down on any female that simply wanted to be a good wife and mother. GOD FORBID!

All right now that is just totally uncalled for. You are not a gentleman or lady. You are an ill mannered intemperate piece of scum. You don't like President Bush? Just say so, and leave his wife out of it! It is not like she is trying to be Co President or something.

You people sure are good at name calling. Let me guess, the only reason you think she's rotten is her last name is Bush. I think it's time to get off the computer now, your mommy has lunch ready.

She's not any worse than Hilary. Atleast Laura keeps her man on the straight and norrow or atleast it seems this way. No white owl cigars here.

Beacause instead of standing up and doing somethings, speaking her mind and being her own person she defers to her husband. Whenever she opens her mouth she is always nice and pleasant but she has no substance and I would rather have someone who spoke how they felt than somone that always said nice things around anyday.
