She was traumatized by the experience. With time and love, she will eventually get past it. Don't try to touch her back end, its still probably sensitive. Have you had her checked out by your vet to insure no serious damage was done?

People who abuse defenseless animals have low self-esteem and a cold heart. There is no excuse for it and I believe that whatever mistreatment is inflicted on a defenseless animal should be done right back to the actor. Hopefully, come Judgment Day, this sort of cruel nonsense will be considered.

People do it because it makes them feel superior to other animals and people because they are in control of them. The control whether or not that animal or person is in pain. It's extremely sick, cruel, and disgusting. I wish someone would make them go through the same thing.

Aww, poor puppy. You could try desensitising her. Praise her abundantly, give her her favorite treats, and tell her what a good puppy she is, while slowly and softly petting and/or stroking her back. Gradually move your hand closer and closer to her tail. Don't expect changes too soon though. It'll take patience. Just don't move your hand fast or in jerky movements near her rear or back. Don't pat her rear either. She needs to get used to your hand on and near her back and tail before any of that or else she'll become hand shy.

Good luck. ^.^

There is never a reason or an excuse for either abusing an animal or a person.
Take your time and earn your puppy's trust and love.
Deep scars from being abused, take time to heal and sadly sometimes they never heal.
Giving your puppy a safe and loving environment, is the best you can do.
Also maybe have the puppy check by a VET, because maybe something is still giving it pain.

Sheesh!! I have had my dog for over 5 years now..(we got it from some one with two dogs and we think this one was abused by men, because it is terrified of men)... and it STILL has a hard time dealing with me!!

She will come to me in the mornings, (when she knows I have food at the table), and then, the entire day, will simply ignore me, (unless there is food involved again).

I told the wife, she can take care of the dog, as I tried for all those years, and she just will not come around me and be friendly...

This is the FIRST an ONLY dog that I havent been able to "win over", and have it friendly towards me... (Yea, I will get over it, when it dies, I get a puppy and I get to train it to like "everyone" in the house).

I wish you well..

Jesse

Coz some folks have no idea how 2 treat animals & proberly treat their family/friends the same way! A dog being loyal will often take the abuse because they know no better & they have no voice 2 ask 4 help.
UR poor lil dog, how frightning & painful 4 her.
Give it time, UR dog will learn 2 trust U. That's 1 of the sadest things I've heard 2day.
Give her a big hug from me.
:)

Some people are mentally ill and think it's ok to hurt animals. Or they just don't know or care whether animals have feelings or not. My dog was abused by a man, and is incredibly fearful of them. And his vet bills cost me hugely to start with.

You need to desensitise your dog; touch, praise, etc.. try to always be touching her (and having other people touching her) in a loving way, with lots of praise. Eventually (this may take a long time) she'll stop being so nervous.
Good luck.

Because it makes people, who otherwise have serious self-confidence issues or anger management problems, feel big and powerful to inflict pain and suffering on a creature that can't or won't fight back. It also happens when people who don't believe that animals have feelings have pets.

If I would have seen that dog, I would have waited for the person to come back and slammed their head in the door. An eye for a tail... But, that's just me.

there is no point some people are mean and i think that it is great that you took in a abused dog.you r a nice person.well i guess the only reason is that there mean and just needs something that's harmless to take it's anger out on and that way the dog cant tell anyone or do anything about .some people even think that animals aren't even human which they aren't but there still living creatures.

Mindless cruelty. Actions taken by people with some aspect of their life that's just not working unfortunately. Why do human beings kill other human beings? The questions are limitless. The answer? It starts with one person that influences another person and in that way, we might not just be able to limit the saving to animals but so much more. Nature, etc etc.. The possibilities are simply limitless.

there is no need. and i think u see that. but why is there a need to kill people? why is there a need to do drugs? why is there a need to do child abuse? why is there a need to kidnap? y is there a need for stuff like that? there is no need. people are cruel and dumb!!! they don't like animals, have sick minds, they want to feel in power, they like hurting others, and are completely horrible cruel people!!!!!!! try to get ur dog to come to u, be around her often, have a lot of people touch her, and just get her to trust humans again. good job taking in a hurt animal!
