No, often store brand items are made in the same factories as their name brand counterparts, they just have different labels. There are very few things in which I prefer the name brand, for example, mayonnaise. I would try the store brand of something first (it's almost always cheaper) and if you don't like it, then you can move on to the name brand.

For the most part, I do think brand names are better than store brands. The store brands usually miss something when they copy. There's a subtle difference.

Sometimes brand names are better than store brands and sometimes they're not. For example, I use some store brand cleaning supplies, but some store brand cleaning supplies I don't think work well enough and don't use. I buy most store brand canned veggies, but I buy brand name aspargus. There's probably no difference with canned veggies.

Depends on what it is - I mean, yes, I like Kraft macaroni & cheese better than the store brand, but I can't tell the difference between store brand cereals and the name brand ones.

brand names are better in my opinion because thats what their living is.. but with store brands they try to duplicate what is already perfected and sell it for less.. when subliminally you know you are not getting what you asked for.. store brands are a secondary thing.. theur store is first in line .. where as brand names.. what they make is first on their list..they take more pride in what they do than others

Humm in the UK I find ASDA & Tesco home brands every bit as good as the National Brands. In some cases you find they are better.
