my sisterwants to know how she can go about marring a guy in jail?? they have been togeather for a long time and he just went to jail and theywant to get married.. so any advice would help

okay, not trying to judge, but a man in jail doesn't show promise of being a good husband. All info depends on;
their age,
the state, the crime he was incarcerated for,
and his term.
she needs to go to the warren of the jail and ask them... either that or
find someone NOT IN JAIL to support her with love and companionship.

Why is he in jail to begin with? I'd want to know how serious the offense was that put him there. If it's something pretty bad, then I'd question why she wants to stay with him.
If he is a really good guy, and this was just a minor situation, then she should wait 'til he gets out. By 'minor' I mean a traffic offense, like driving without a license, or something like that.
If it was more serious, such as domestic abuse, or burglary, rape, etc. then I think she needs to find some other guy.

either wait till hes out or get marriage papers from the court and bring down to the jail and have him sign.
advice: dont marry a guy in jail!!!!

i think your sister is one amazing person, to love someone that much and care for that person that she would continue her life and plans with him even if he is in jail. all the best to them both and i hope he gets out soon. well depending on what he did to get in there. but im sure its no biggie.
so here is what you need to do. well, she needs to do. she needs to contact soemone from that jail. tell them that she would like to marry someone that is in jail and what are the options.
if they dont let him out at all. then have a judge go with her for them both to sign papers stating that they are married. or whatever way they let you do that to have them both sign it. im sure they would have to be in the same spot to sign it.
then if the jail lets them have a wedding there. then tell her to keep it simple. maybe after he gets out they can do something bigger. but while in jail. they can keep it short and simple.

I think its a wonderfull thing to love someone that much. To still want to get married even tho hes in jail. go for it gurl!!! Good luck to her and all...
