What about pecans?

Oaks?

Palms?

Imagine each of these and describe how it makes you feel.

Willows are very calming for me, mainly because there were willows near the lake where I grew up.

Oaks. I love oaks. I love *my* oaks! We have a stand of about five Post Oaks in our backyard and I love hanging out under them and doing my circles in the grove.

Palms to me mean "California" which has mixed meaning to me, or "Florida" which has a lot of deep sentimental meaning to me (we got engaged at DisneyWorld). But I don't have a lot of emotional or spiritual connection to them.

I love willow trees. I make magick wands as a hobby and willow is by far one of my favorite woods to work with. It is a beautiful, blonde-colored wood. I love its smell. The bark from the white willow tree can also be made into an herbal tincture and used as a pain reliever. In fact, it is the basis for modern-day aspirin. When I think about willow I think about the Goddess and the moon. About psychic abilities and emotion. It also reminds me of night.

Oak is a great wood too -- it was used in ancient rites by the Celtic Druids as a sacred tree. It is a strong, masculine wood. It has an interesting appearance to it, as well, medium darkness with a visual graininess to it -- I just really associate it with strength, and it mades me think of Norse mythology. (Odin)

I'm not familiar with pecan --

Palm trees make me think of when I go to FL to visit my grandmother. It is a reminder to me that I can relax and that I'm on vacation.

Hope that is what you were looking for :-)

Blessings and Light

As a witch, druid elder and celtic reiki master/teacher, I believe the secret to life exists within all trees. They carry insurmountable knowledge, their energies heal and protect. Plants are just very slow animals, when you think about it. People have asked me what I could possibly learn by just sitting and watching the trees. The answer in one word? Patience.

Willow trees are very peaceful.
When I was growing up, my parents had a huge one in their backyard, and I had a whole set up in there.
Blanket, pillows, etc.
It was my reading spot.

Pecans make me think of Christmas, which makes me happy because Christmas is such a magical time of year.

Oaks make me think of strength because they are such strong sturdy trees.

Palms make me think of the ocean, which puts me at peace because in my opinon, there is no sound on earth like waves lapping at the shore.

Hope this is what you were looking for.

Willows evoke memories of my first camping trip.
Pecans make me hungry.
Oaks make me homesick.
Palms make me want a beer.
