My 17 month old daughter came home yesterday from the babysitter with a rash all over her chest and back. Could it be a heat rash? She normally just runs around in her diaper since it's been so hot.

if it looks like patches of little red spots, bumps...yes.

If it is spread out over her entire body...see a doctor..it could be allergic reation, measles, chicken pox etc...but I doubt it.

I have a 18mo old daughter and she gets it to. Sometimes we just let her run around a bit in some of my 3yr olds panties to "air out" a little. Also, put some icecubes in her sippy cup to keep her cool.

When it's real hot, wife will let them play in a nice cool bath a couple of times a day. Just use more lotion after so their skin doesn't get dried out..

that could be a possibility especially if it is so hot and humid, but I would check with the babysitter and ask if any other child has a rash like that. If there is, it could be something contagious, or something she had eaten. Good luck

It could be a heat rash or an allergic reaction to something. If it does not go away by tomorrow, you should take her to the doc just to be sure.

I'd say heat rash sounds right.
