I rescued a pregnant mommy cat a couple of weeks ago. She is soooo darling!!! I can tell that she is about to give birth soon. She is so large. Now, yesterday I noticed that she was spotting blood. Does this mean that she is going to give labor, or that something is horribly wrong. She hasn't changed her temperment. Still calm and sweet. I know that when they prepare for labor they get testy and hide. That is the opposite with her. I don't truely have the extra monies to take her to the vet right now. Any help I can get would be so appreciated. Thank you.

She is not nesting at all. She is still letting me rub her belly (She's kind of like a dog! :) But, for the most part I don't see the "normal" signs of labor

She could be close to birth but cats will hold off on labor if they have not found a good place to birth.Put her in a quiet dark room,by dark i mean not sun beaming in on her but if you can close the curtains just to make it feel secluded. It has to be a place that people are not going to be walking in and out of.Put a bunch of old towels or blankets down and if you have a big shallow box or close basket put the towels in there. Also leave her food and water.Cats waters break awhile before birth and you could see mucus also.If your in the room when she labors if she wants to walk and not birth the babies in the box or towels let her,she will have the babies where she wants,i had a cat give birth in the litter box,if she does that make sure to put some towels in there so the kittens dont land in the litter. When they come out make sure the thin membrane around there face comes of,you may have to pull it off than rub them in a towel to get them breathing good,if mom does this than step back but not all moms know what to do.She may leave the kitten when the next is about to be born so keep the already born kittens warm.

Yes this means she could give birth withen 24 hours!!!
Call your vet and see what to do. Be sure she is pregnet.
Put somthing out that is at least 2x2 feet. Put a blanket in it and try to keep her in it. Make sure she knows where it is. make it is in a quite spot. call or contact the people you got her from!! see how long she has been Pregnat for!!
Good Luck!!! :)

If you "rescued" a cat but can't afford to take care of her, then you didn't really rescue her at all. She needs to see a vet, STAT! Take her to a shelter where she'll get proper care, and then she and the kittens will be neutered before being adopted!

Sounds like it. Prepare her by putting a old blanket or large towel in the closet. (dark). show her maybe shut the door with the cat inside for a bit. should have kittens tonight!

if your cat is sweet and trusts you, she will not hide to have babies if inside. She will want you with her. My cat would not stay in her box if I got up to leave. I was not aloud to leave her. Get ready for babies, they are coming.
