TWO QUESTIONS:
If I were to walk up 29 flights of stairs then down 29 flights of stairs.. What part of my legs get worked out going up.. And part of my legs get worked out going down the stairs???

Okay here's your answer ... Both going up and going down primarily work your quadraceps (front of the thigh) the gluts (buttock muscles) and your calves to some extent.

The diiference between the going up and going down is what phase of the muscle contraction is used, either the concentric component (the shortening of the muscle, or the positive portion of the contraction) or the eccentric component ( the lengthening of the muscle, or the negative portion of the contraction). Going up the stairs, you are primarily working the muscles concentrically, and coming down you are working the muscles eccentrically.

going up the stairs the calves get the work out. going down the stairs the thighs get the work out.

Quads (front of thighs) going up and Hamstrings (back of thighs) going down. Stairs are a tough workout!
