are men and women, on average, looking for a partner to spend the rest of their lives with? Refrences to websites would be appreciated. If not, it's okay. :)

It varies depending on the person. I got married when I was 24 and had my daughter when I was 26. I dated 5 1/2 years before getting married. I wanted to be young when I started my family, not 40+ when you have a higher risk for complications during pregnancy, etc. My husband has a few friends who just turned 30 who are looking for that special someone now and I think they feel the pressure, ironic since they were the ones who thought we were too young or not ready and now they want what we have.

I dont think a person should ever start looking. I think true love will kind of fall in your lap. I have dated probably about 20-30 men in my life, and even when I was dating them, I could tell that yea, I might love this guy, but there are alot of reasons Id never marry him. And then this guy came along one day, and we went out, and fell in love, and 3 years later, we got married. It just kind of happened. Good Luck. PS: I was 25 when we got married.

Everyone is different. I have found that most people who choose a partner young in life choose wrong. With experience & age, comes wisdom and we usually pick again in our late 30s to mid 40s and usually get it right the 2nd time.
