A lot of of liquor stores do carry it, however a lot of the small corner ones you find throughout the city might not have enough room to stock it.
Pick up the yellow pages and call around. It's not that difficult to find, but the closer you are to downtown the smaller the liquor stores are and the less likely you are to find it since it's not a super popular drink in the area.

True Absinthe is illegal. When I was in France there were only 3 stores that sold "true" Absinthe. www.basementshaman.com has all the things you need to brew and have for yourself. I found someone when I was in France that had REAL TRUE Absinthe and i found it to be kind of mild all things considered. It is a hallucinogenic so keep in mind that anything you find in a liquor store will definitely NOT be Absinthe.

I don't really know, but I'll bet you could buy one at any upscale liquor store if you ask them to order one for you. You can find places for them to order from, by simply doing a search for "absinthe" on the internet. There are several providers who advertise.

If you want the real thing, you're gonna have to look it up on the internet and order it from France. Liquor stores usually don't have it ujntil the holidays, and even then it's not real.
