I feel that a large guarded fence would be the best for both sides, the United States is overwhelmed when in comes to caring for the illegals of Mexico many of whom show up in this country with just the clothes on their backs. Health care for US citizens has declined since the influx of Mexican citizens has increased I live in a state where money from the government that should have gone to waivers for Autistic and handicapped children was converted to money used to cover the health care of the Hispanic community I work and pay taxes yet children in my community are treated like second class citizens this country while generous and helpful needs to take care of it's own first especially the elderly and our own children, I feel for the Mexican citizens who want a better life for their children but our children are first and it is time that the government addresses that issue. And if it cost to build this fence then think of what we will save when it comes to educating and caring for people who take advantage of the United states. If it meant that as a citizen of this country that I would have to help build the wall then let me know when and where I have steel toed boots so we need to get a move on.

Make it a felony to hire a person for less than minimum wage. If employers can't do this, there's no longer any financial incentive to hire an illegal immigrant over a US citizen. Any illegals that are hired are either better qualified or there were no US citizens to hire in their place. Do this, and there is effectively no need for border patrol. Let the "invisible hand" do its work.

The less extreme version, though, is to have a guest worker program.

Proposal.....First, build a fence with alligator trenches on the Mexico side and armed guards on the American side . Second, immediately get rid of the law making a child born to an illegal on our soil an automatic citizen. Third, bring our troops home to round them all up and deport every last one they can catch as fast as they can get it done.

Cost.....It doesn't matter, spare no expense, we can't put a monetary value on our freedom and security.
