I want to move over there permantely, but I need to know that information first.

Yes you can have dual citizenship in Switzerland, effective as of January 1992. I have a few friends who have dual citizenship, it takes a while to get the Swiss passport if you are not married to a Swiss citizen.

Switzerland allows dual citizenship, so the only deciding factor would be your other country's rules.

I don't know what happened in 1992 but my husband and his parents and brother have been dual Swiss and Canadian citizens since more like 1982.
