There are many religions. I do not believe in god, but am open to ideas. Everyone says their god is the one god. 10 points to the most convincing argument. Would you tell me exactly what religion and sect first. I want real proof. For the record, you must not just make your religion sound best, but make it sound reasonable to me. Athiests can join in.

The odds of any one religion being correct are nill. Look at the history of religion. Religions are constantly changing. They merge together and develop new theories. How do you know some pigmy religion in Brazil isn't the only true religion? If your religion isn't true then what is it that you believe in, a lie?

Religion is about control and manipulation of the masses. It has resulted in more wars, pain and suffering than any other invention.

Parents tell you to avoid peer pressure yet religion is the greatest peer pressure of all. Why is it necessary to justify your belief by forcing others to believe as you do? I find it shows doubt in your own beliefs.

Science is the real search for the truth. Science is open to input from all. If an error is found then it is researched until a new theory is proven. It openly admits it doesn't know all answers yet is open to a process for discovering them.

The purpose of religion is to help people be better people and it comes down to what you believe. There is no proof.

We now know that the universe is comprised of a series of non-related, non-sequential events. If you are religious, you can believe that God caused these events to happen in a manner which resulted in our existence. If you are an evolutionist, you can believe that our existence is coincidental. Both of these beliefs, while not exclusionary, come down to mustas. God musta created man because --- . There musta been a mutation as a result of ----- . Neither of them has lined up all of the rabbits to the beginning of the universe, if the universe had a beginning. It musta, or maybe it always was.

The current big bang theory, where nothing exploded and made something, requires that we believe that there musta always been something. Nothing is a hard thing to accept and visualize. No light, no darkness, no atoms, no electrons, no neutrons, no photons, just nothing. It also requires that we believe that the universe musta had a beginning and must have an end even though we can't see it. We can only see 15 billion light years in all directions so it stands to reason that something else must be and musta been beyond the astronomical horizon. It can't just end because we can't see it.

So the big question remains. What was this something that exploded when there was nothing, if that is what happened, and created this universe which we know is at least 30 billion light years in diameter?

What do you believe?

If u don't believe in God then what's the use of joining any religion?????

Because every religion has atleast a God. & there's no religion as such in which U Don't have to believe in God.

I can only advice. But the last decision will be urs only.
It's ur life and u only have to chose which religion to chose.

Actually what I believe is that there ultimately is one God.
And all the people who under the religion of Muslims for example will say that Allah is the only God, etc. But I think that ultimately is one God. And all these people were sort of messengers of God. And God Made them to come to this world to remove sin and all those things frm Earth.

If u are not able to understand, take the help of ur parents, elderly people, friends and relatives.

What I'm gonna do is to continue with the religion of my parents.

But I still say that the ultimate decision is gonna be yrs only.

Christianity has the most proof behind it. When the Bible was first put together, the ones who were copying it made sure they copied it exactly from the original copy. If any mistakes were made, they would throw away everything they had just copied. Even if they were on the last verse of the Bible, they would throw it all away. There is proof that Jesus actually existed and that he did die and that he did rise again. Even his enemies said that he was real when they could have just denied his whole existance. If you seriously want to find out more about Christianity and the proof behind it then I suggest a book called "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel. Lee Strobel was a lawyer who set out to prove that Christianity wasn't real and in the end there was so much proof for Christianity that he became a Christian himself. God Bless.

All religions are right. And the proof is that they exist hundreds and thousands years and provided not disaster but prosperity to its belivers . But the best religion for someone is that with which he rised up and knows the best. Because it's simpliest. And that is in line with what God provided for humans. The biggest problem of our times is fast and easy change of place to live or visit which gives this all missunderstanding about religions. When I was young I tended to keep distance from other churches. It was because of fear of unknown. Now, when I visited nearly 60 countries, I know more about others and the more I know the more I understand that we are all children of one Allmighty. And we only must understand that the religion is a way of beliving and it is not to be the same for all of humans. So depreciacjon of any is a against God.

I would say this.

I am a Christian. Sect is not important to your answer. I personally beieve there should be no sect but different sects believe in different "nuances". That's fine. When choosing a church or sect, the (in Christianity, at least, I think) church must reasonably agree with your or my interpretation of the Bible. So, the Church should agree with you, not you agree with the church!

Therefore you would have to read the Bible yourself before you can make this evaluation.

Interesting, huh?

I happen to be "closest" to the Baptists. Just my view, that's all. They seem more literal in understanding than others and try not to read too much into the bible and don't usually say it says one thing when it doesn't. As a governing church, they seem to keep away from involving themselves into the actions and beliefs of the local units.

OK.

As far as the ONE god.

There are things that are based on faith alone, like creation and evolution. Neither can be proven. There are some things I don't question NOR do I have the time to question, but I have thought about yours before.

I think that every religion (legitimate) has a common thread in that it preaches a way for us to live. The ten commandments for instance. And I don't think these principles vary all that much from religion to religion.

It is possible that God treats various "races" or "people" differently as in He comes across to each "group" in a different manner. So, that could explain one god, many "religions".

I'm not that worried about it nor am I militant about it. I was raised a Christian (good or bad) and I feel that I have found true happiness in being a Christian and trying to live the life I should. I can't of course (no one can...) and that's why we have a savior in Jesus.

I don't think anyone ever said that Jesus did not live. It was he who said who he was. I believe that in the past, when I turned to him, he has answered me in various ways..something I can't get into here....so it works for me. So, to me, my faith in him has been proven. That is my experience. And the "promise' of eternal life with him for simply believing in him makes the message of Jesus a very POSITIVE one. That makes God the loving god we are taught that he is.

So, to me,believing in Christ as my savior, and Christianity, as taught by the Bible is the one true way to Salvation.

OK, I am Christian, Baptist to be specific. Baptists believe in the priesthood of the believer. This means that the believer can go direct to God with his concerns and needs and does not require someone else to interpret the Bible to him. I believe that the Bible is the word of God as recorded by those inspired by God. The Bible is a book about man's relationship to God and man's relationship to other men. When Genesis records that God created the heavens and earth, that's a fact in my belief. But just because Genesis does not mention Big Bang, String Theory, or Evolution does not invalidate the primary assertion - that God is responsible for creation. To my way of thinking, God can do it however He pleases and the Bible is not the CRC Handbook of Chemistry, Physics, & Biology. It is an explaination of WHO and WHY, not how.

Faith is something that you must find on your own, no one can prove it to you.

You're not going to find proof that God exists, but you will know he's there. If I asked you to show me a pencil, and you did, we would have no question it exsisted...but if I were to ask you to show me the air, you wouldn't be able to make me see it...yet still we would have question that it exists.

I don't need proof of God's existence, for I know he is there, just like I know the air is there. The only time you can see the air is when it's blowing something around. God kind of does the same thng when he helps peopl, sometimes that the only time people can be sure he's there.

Think about it. Has something ever completely turned around, from good to bad? You might have no logical explination as to what happened, you're just glad it did....
Ever think that it might be work of a higher powe....meaning God, the Creator? I do. Why not believe in something that is good and comforting? Why not, really? Who are you going to turn to when you're all alone and scared? Who are you going to talk to and you need to talk whe you're all alone. Who are you going to ask for help when you're nervous about something and no body is around to ask? God! Why not God?! Why not have him there? All you have to do it believe he's there, and ask for help....and you'll never again be alone! If you have trouble believing it's ok.....he'll understand and just be happy that you're trying. Life will be so much brighter, better, cleaner, happier if you turn to God.

I don't care if I get the ten points, I just hope I have helped you come to know God.

God bless and good luck!

none and all of them :o)
for me my religion is the best one for me .. it may not be for you
my religion isn't better than anyone Else's nor does it profess to be
and I'm not here to give a convincing argument because that would be going against everything i stand for .. free will
don't take a religion on because people say this is right for you .. that's a silly way to come to a decision like that
read the facts and fallacies of each religion , make a logical sensible choice made by choosing something that resonates how you feel about god
just for the record i am spiritualist and have wonderful personal proof , but my proof may not be your proof

Can education be considered religious? Religions and gods are all man made. Try and educate yourself as much as possible about all of the gods, then you will have an understanding of how and why man created them. With education, your ideas can change, religions don't change. Keep the good advice, throw out the bad, and be the best person you can become. Man and woman must help each other, we're all we have.
