Israel tried in every way possible to live peacefully with its neighbors. They are surrounded on all sides with countries that harbor terrorists. From the day Israel was established, the attacks began. The Israelis even bulldozed their own settlements and gave the land to the Arabs, but nothing short of the annihilation of Israel would satisfy them. The suicide bombers got on Israeli school buses and went into the market places. Missiles were aimed at resorts and cities and hundreds more were poised on the border. Israel even built a wall but it didn't keep the terrorists out. When 2 soldiers were kidnapped, Israel had enough. The did what the US should be doing; they went after the terrorist's headquarters and training grounds. These are the same terrorists that attacked us on 9/11 and have attacked Britain, India and other countries. Israel is the only ally of the US in the Middle East and the only democracy in the region. They have a right to defend themselves.

The only clear reason why Israel is in that miss is the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian land . if Israel implement the UN 242 resolution in full there will be an end to the on going wars in the Middle East. Israel up to this day will not tell the world and the Palestinian that it will withdraws from all the land mentioned in UN Resolution. My opinion is that since Sharon suffered from the strokes he had, the Israeli people and government have been taking advantage of the situation and planning things out which would kill the innocent muslim people around them... The whole Hezbollah thing is just a backup lie to cover up for what is really going on over there. They're calling airstrikes on random peoples homes because the people living in them "supposedly" threw rocks at their soldiers who were shooting at relatives. They always say what the American people want to hear. And they're always on Israel's side because we're allies. Now tell me if this makes sense to you, the war started when the Lebanese terrorists kidnapped 2 ISRAELI SOLDIERS.... but then Israel turns around and STARTS A KILLS A WHOLE BUNCH OF INNOCENT PEOPLE... I mean COME ON... If you seriously wanna know anymore about why there is a war, then actually try to look it up... find the truth, you might actually find yourself going against the israeli forces being in Lebanon.... A Lebanese terrorist organization, Hezbollah, dug a tunnel into Israel, killed some Israeli soldiers and took 2 as hostages and then sought to transport those hostages to Iran.
Israel, demanded that the hostages be released but Hezbollah refused, so Israel responded with military force. Their goal, now, is to destroy Hezbollah, it can no longer be permitted to exist.
